Purchasing the D'Addario Auto Lock Guitar Strap was the best thing I could have done for peace of mind. For 50 years I never had an issue with a bass coming off of a strap until I purchased a higher end bass (figures). After the second "drop off" (luckily I caught it on both occasions) I had to do something as I would have been VERY upset if it had fallen to the floor. The strap arrived very quickly and it is absolutely great. Very good quality and still lightweight. The locking mechanisms are a "snap"! Ned Steinberger is a smart guy and D'Addario is a great company, I highly recommend it!

Full stop, best guitar strap I’ve ever owned. This strap is comfortable, easy to use and secure. If you are like me and own multiple guitars, there is no need to buy strap locks for each one. Game changer. I am thrilled with this product and cannot recommend it enough.

There are hundreds of very cool guitar straps to choose from. I tried this one based on the "feel" of the material at the guitar store rather than looks. The material conforms to my shoulder providing even pressure with no hot spots. It's a nice-looking strap, it's just plain black. It's not padded and slides over clothing nicely. Some of those padded or leather ones really stick and bunch up your shirts. This one easily slides to readjust to your playing position. The quick release is excellent. I like it so much I bought another one and I'll probably be buying more for my other guitars.

The strap is over all pretty good, but I must have gotten a defective one that was assembled wrong at the factory. There is a twist in the strap that never comes out due to this. I just never wanted to return it due to hassle so I just live with it. I'm sure if I wanted to I could have returned the item.

I used this at home where I am frequently switching out guitars from my rack to play. I used to leave each guitar's straps on, but they got tangle up on the rack. I bought this so I could easily slip the strap off on guitar to place it back on the rack and then pop it on the guitar I was going to play at the time.The locks work great and are easy to pop on and off a regular strap knob. I have mostly Fenders (strats and a jazzmaster) and a Guil T-Bird and all of the knobs fit fine.The strap is plain, but I don't take it out so that was not much of a problem. It is comfortable with a good balance of not slipping with the heavier guitars or sticking when I do move around a bit.Not sure how much it would hold up on stage, but for basic usage at home or in a studio, it works great.

Been using now every day for a year, with 4 different guitars. I can’t find a downside. Easy to attach to any guitar I have (I don’t have any with PRS buttons), even guitars that have Dunlop hybrid buttons installed. I found no need to change them back (don’t want to wear out the screw holes if I don’t need to).The strap itself is silky smooth and high quality, black is the perfect color. It’s not a fashion statement, it should just be there to hold the guitar, and that’s what it does.With a heavy Les Paul, I wouldn’t mind a wider strap though. 3” version on the horizon?

I've purchased four of these straps. My main gigging guitars are Les Pauls, and they work fine on them. I have not noticed the ring around the peg that others have mentioned. I've also used these on Fender Stratocasters and Ovation Celebrity acoustics. The locking mechanism is solid and, after a few uses, I had no problem letting the guitar hang by the strap, hands free. Never a single failure. The strap is wide and soft enough to be comfortable. It goes on as fast as a strap with no locking mechanism. It's a good product. Highly recommended.
