I have carried a blackbird for a couple of years as my main camp knife, but this may just be my new favorite. A full tang knife is a must for any camp duties and this knife has it, batoning wood was not a problem, and with the D-2 blade, the edge held up very well. The blade is a little tougher to sharpen if you need to develop a new edge but it will hold an edge much longer. It is balanced well and feels great in your hand making for great control when trying to do finer tasks. It fits well in the included Kydex sheath for worry-free carry in the woods, and the included ferro rod is top-of-the-line, throwing a ton of hot sparks. I dont think you will find a better knife for a better price anywhere.

Let’s be honest, it’s Chinese. The last thing I wanted was a Chinese knife and in all honesty, it’s the only regret about this knife. I also wish they had the OD green with silver blade, I’m not a fan of the black but it’s what they had. If they want to send me a green version, I’m happy to share on my TT with 10k followers or my YouTube channel because it got 5 stars for a reason.The whole “gift set” marketing is hokey at best and I wish they would just call it a survival kit or something. Gift set just cheapens it.Now onto the knife.Sheath is good, not great, not bad. It’s effective. The retention is great and I love the added leather strap. I wish the sheath was leather but I digress.The knife was sharp out of the box and I used it to shave my baby goat. It’s that good. The knife feels super solid and I like the G10 scales, though I wish it was a bit thicker. I like em THICC.I put the knife to the test today and it performed flawlessly. I used it to break down firewood, shave some fat wood and slung a spark that got the whole thing going without an issue.I don’t want to like stuff made in china but I’m impressed. I’m considering getting a TOPS knife to compare it but this will definitely stay on my side until I find a better USA knife that I can afford. Which I may never do.

I don’t know how you could possibly damage, much less break this thing. The spine is at least twice as thick as your “box store” survival knives, with nice edge geometry and a comfortable handle.You could buy 10 $50 Walmart knives, and they wouldn’t last as long as one of these. This knife will outlive me and make a really cool relic to pass on someday.Lastly, although you’re mainly paying for the knife, the included accessories are nothing to scoff at. The sheath is some kind of super rigid composite material with a belt clip. Also comes with a fire starting kit and some paracord, all of which mount straight to the sheath.All in all, clip this bad boy to your hip or hiking bag, and you won’t need any other knives. Or leave it under your car seat or next to your bed and I may save your life. No BS, this is an amazing knife.

This is a very well-built knife! The blade has a nice thickness to it but is still comfortable to hold. Comes in very nice packaging, something you don't see any more from other brands. The sheath is very sturdy built and has multiple mounting options. The blade comes very sharp and holds an edge well. The included flint rod and scrapper for fire starting is a nice add-on and stores in the sheath, which i really like! I have purchased multiple Holtzman's knives and have been nothing but impressed so far.

This is a great outdoor knife and worth the cost. The sheath really stands out and I really enjoy the addition of the ferro rod and scraper. Having the flexibility of the belt loop came in handy. I have mine fastened to a pack that I take fishing so I am never out without it. The blade has held up well so far and comes with a good edge already on it and ready to use out of the box. The packaging is pretty nice and would make for a great gift.

As a survival knife the width of the blade must be thicker. Great knife for its cost. Very satisfied..dilevery was great. Will reorder

This is really an awesome knife with accessories. The balance and workmanship is great, and while this is a bit longer than my usual choice of blades, it is absolutely perfect. The whole thing just feel great in my hand and very comfortable. The presentation, ferro rod, striker, and sheath really makes this something special. I got one for myself, but my wife claimed it for her own. Guess I'll have to get another.
