Could i use this to take pans out of an oven at home rather than use a cooking glove - this looks more secure

Only if it is a plain rim. Like metal with no rolled over top or curled. Also this handle is relatively short putting you hand close to the pan you are lifting. It is good for what it is meant for, picking up camping pots and pans up to 2 litres.

Has anyone tried this with the stanley adventure camp cook set?

This will work with almost any pot or mess tin with or without a lip. Unlike cheaper copies it will not qiuckly get too hot to hold.

Will this fit a normal non camping pot please ?

If its got flat sides, as opposed to curved like a kettle, yes. I use it on pans that the handle has broke off.

Has anyone tried this with a nalgene/Guyot stainless steel bottle?

I would say not - looking at the Nalgene/Guyot stainless steel bottle designs. The trangia pan handle is meant for those bowels/cups that have a rolled edge. Looking at the Nalgene/Guyot they don't typically have one, but for the money you could always buy and try - or visit your local camping shop that stocks Trangia spares and try one there.
