Grt idea
My betta fish is so chilled sleeps on top of his Indian leaf takes no notice if I'm moving stuff around in the tank. So brought this for him to move his fins etc he don't take any notice of it leaves the minnows and shrimp alone too but good idea

Yes
Does what it says on the tin.It floats so you donât suction it to the glass, it looks decently modern and thankfully reminds you on it 5mins max, so donât be like me and leave it in overnight because your betta will have torn fins from stress and over flaring lol.Itâs small so fits in any tank really (but shouldnât have smaller than 25l for a betta anyways!!)Great value for money, quality Iâll say feels cheap but for the price and intended purpose itâs fine.

Fantastic tool to keep betta healthy
The media could not be loaded. Betta fish need exercise daily to keep their muscles strong enough so that they can swim around with their long and heavy fins. They also need an engaging and entertaining surroundings to remain curious and active. I pop this mirror in my betta tank everyday for 5 to 10 minutes maximum and he starts flaring and going around it instantly. This imitates their natural instinct to fight another male in nature without actually being hurt or hurting another betta. My only qualm is that you cannot take the black lettering off the mirror but my betta seems unbothered by it. Recommended for all betta parents (alongside some kind of hammock or floating log where they can hide and lie to rest when sleeping)

It shouldn't be marketed for Betta fish, only buy for community fish đ
I use this for my Molly fish, which are community fish.Betta mirrors should not be used for Betta fish since they are solitary. Seeing themselves (but obviously not having the awareness that it is themselves so believing that another Betta is in their territory) stresses them out!It is fabulous enrichment for community fish, who are used to being with the same species. My Molly fish love it and it keeps them very enriched and intrigued. Their dorsal fins go straight up meaning they are very interested! đ The only reason I have given 3â is because it is marketed for Betta fish when in reality, it is cruel to give to Betta fish and other solitary species.I recommend ONLY for community fish!!

Makes my boy flare but seems to stress him out a little too much.
The media could not be loaded. After getting my first half moon betta I thought I should invest in a mirror to encourage flaring and help keep his fins strong so he doesnât start to struggle later in life with the weight of them. Iâd never used a mirror before so wasnât sure what to expect⊠but boy did he not like it đ .The mirror itself is thin and almost plastic feeling but works perfectly well. Itâs attached to a floating ball so it can non around in the tank own itâs own with ease. The first time I used it my boy just hid from it but by the third time he well and truly hated it and was flaring and swimming round getting plenty of exercise and really working his muscles⊠It has got to the point though where he is very stressed with it and we have decided to not use it right now and wait till heâs older and see if he needs the exercise then.It can also be used if a betta gets bloated or constipated as it helps them poop! So it will also get stored away incase we need it for that.It does state on the mirror to only use it for 5 minutes at a time and that really shouldnât be ignored as too much stress is really detrimental to any fish. Itâs hard to tell before you buy the mirror how yours will react so be prepared to not be able to use it if it does cause too much stress. From what Iâve read my boys overly stressed reaction isnât the norm and if you have a fish that flares and swims around in a more chilled manner then using it a couple of times a week shouldnât be an issue.Overall this is a decent enough mirror that works well, but sadly my not got too stressed and we can no longer use it. I would however still recommend it to try as it can be very beneficial if the fish is okay with it.
