What a great little device this is
What a great little device this is !I previously owned a 2005 BMW 5 series which had no auxiliary input and the only solution for me was to spend £350 having a Dension blue-tooth kit fitted in into the fibre optic audio system in order for me to be able to stream music to the stereo. Having ditched the BMW for a Range Rover Sport 2007 I was looking for a solution to the same problem as the RR does not do music blue-tooth connection. I found the Himbox and read the reviews and as the RR has an auxiliary input at the rear of the centre console I figured for under £25 I would give this a whirl. My one concern was whether the lead would be long enough for me to actually mount the control "pebble" on the dash. I plugged it all in which to all of 5 seconds, started up the car, paired to my phone in no time at all and away I went happily streaming my tunes.Another concern I had was whether there was going to be engine interference due to this type of connection (aux) and if there was going to be that annoying electrical "whizz" as the engine change revs coming over the speakers. While there is a minor amount of white noise when no music is playing (very minimal) it does not change pitch and there is none during music playback. Talking of music playback the audio quality is just great. The "pebble" auto connects each time I start the car up and if blue-tooth is already turned on on the phone I get a satisfying "Your device is connected" from a very soothing, non robotic, female voice. The pebble glows a steady muted blue colour when connected which is not glaring at all at night. After having the kit fitted for a little while just hanging loose in the car I decided to try and fit it properly for a neat fit. I am glad to say that, for my car anyway, the lead was just about long enough for me to hide the cable in the trim along the centre and upper console and mount the control pebble on the dash. I've made a couple of calls using the Himbox and those I have spoken to have said that the audio is very clear and multiple people speaking within the car at the same time can be heard without problem with no echo or other issues reported. In closing, for under £25 this is a great, inexpensive solution to my problem and the addition of 2x extra USB ports in the supplied charger for people in the rear of the car to use is a bonus. This product is well worth a punt.

A brilliant, low-cost option to add bluetooth functionality to your car with good performance. A doddle to set up and use.
Very easy to set up. Decided a place on where to stick the base with the adhesive pad, and it stuck very strongly immediately, seems very secure. The Himbox attaches itself to the base effortlessly and securely, better than I thought it might.Once plugging the car charger in and plugging the aux and USB cables from the Himbox into the charger, I did have some static and interference coming through the AUX input in my car speakers - however this went away as soon as I paired my iPhone up to it. The pairing was very easy, literally just had to choose HB01 from discovered devices on my phone and it connects, confirmed by "Device is connected" through the car speakers. I then tried playing some music and the sound quality was very good, and button presses on the Himbox to change track etc work very well with just a half-second or so delay. I also tested it with Spotify on my iPhone and it works exactly the same as with the default Music app, so I'm very impressed.Another thing I particularly like is that getting into the car with my phone in my pocket with Spotify running, the Himbox just knows to start playing music from Spotify. And if you get into the car with no music app or anything running on your phone, pressing the main Play button on the Himbox will start music playing on shuffle from your phone - awesome. Saves having to make sure you open Music app etc and get it ready. It's as simple as getting in the car, starting the engine, hearing the "Power On - Device is Connected" through the car speakers and pressing play on the Himbox and you're away.Phone call quality seems reasonably good, I could hear the other end fine and loudly - some people say it's very quiet on the other end but just make sure your phone's call volume is up, and make sure the volume is turned up on the Himbox too. If your car's Aux input option has it, it's also worth adjusting the volume of the Aux-input in your car stereo system as well. Person on the other end did they say could occasionally hear a slight echo of their voice in the background, but they could still hear me clearly - I've been in new cars with bluetooth built-in and been on the phone with someone who's using a modern, integrated bluetooth system and sometimes had the same problem.Overall, a great product to add bluetooth functionality to your car for calls and music, easy to set up, easy to use, and a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 for sound quality.
