Can i play and watch uhd blue-ray movies using this drive?

Yes, if you downgrade the firmware to version 1.02 it will read UHD discs, but then you need software like Leawo or Cyberlink to play them.

Just wonder if this drive will work ok on a new windows 10 system built using a new amd ryzen cpu and mobo? seems strange if it only works with intel

It absolutely works on my system which is based on a Ryzen 3800XT

Is this burner compatible with Linux?

I see no reason why not, it doesn't need any drivers in windows. I don't use it to play films although I have, you will need some software to do so, for burning you also only need the burning software.

Can I use this to install windows 10 ?

I have have the LG blue Ray writer and it can be used the same as a DVD/CD writer/reader. You will need some software for Windows 10 but you can use Burnaware free or similar to get you started. Sometimes the burners come with some basic software. I personally use Nero as that also burns BleRay disks. Plenty of software out there. Hope this helps as I've used the LG for installing Windows 10. I use Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. Hope this helps.
