Hi. Do the water pens leak or can you have them in your bag with water in them?!

I'm sure you could have them in a bag. Just to be sure pop them in a little freezer bag. It's a great device!

why supervised by an adult?

I have absolutely no idea! My grandson first started using these when he was about 2 - he's now 3 and a half and still loves them. I have bought every one in the set. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are brilliant. When the water drys on the page, it's ready to use again. You won't be disappointed with this item. It's great on a car journey. I have never found any reason to think it might need supervision. Maybe the pen 'cap' might be considered a choking hazard but then I remove that before I give the pen to him to play so it's not an issue but I suppose some children may put it in their mouths. I guess it's the company covering themselves. Buy it, you'll love it 

How long does the water in the pen last for?

It is only a small pen but I would say it lasts for at least the 15 mins it takes my son to colour in all the pages, we use a paintbrush instead now with a bowl of water because the pen scratches the pages after a while or if you have the aqua doodle pen you could use that one since its bigger and works well with this too.
