This blanket is quality made, magnets are very strong and has been keeping out the drafty cold air better than I expected. Our fireplace for some strange reason has a weird damper lever adjustment. There is a way to adjust the flow of air out but it can't be adjusted so that it is completely closed, therefor the gap lets in a lot of cold air in the winter. This blanket fits very well and is doing a great job at keeping the cold air out even though there is a small bulging out of the cover (lower right side in the photo) It's not a big problem since I don't really feel any cold air coming in at that area. I believe a couple more strong magnets would solve that issue as several reviewers had mentioned. Despite that, I'm 100 percent happy with my purchase.

It fits the fire place, but it doesn't lay flat against the fire in different areas So bought it to help with the draft in the winter but It still drafty.

Well made and heavier than I expected. Other fireplace blankets I have used have been made of a much lighter weight of material. I plan on buying another one so if this one ever wears out, I will have a back up.

Simple to install, under one minute! And it works as advertised.

Helps stop air drifts and fits my fireplace just right

I recently added a comfy recliner for my living room, and placed it next to the (never used) gas fireplace. That was when I became aware of just how drafty the fireplace is. I went looking for something to block drafts, and ultimately chose this option, because I seemed like it would fit my particular fireplace well. The fit was actually better than I could have hoped, in that I was even able to wrap it around the left and right edges of my fireplace. Unfortunately, the stingy placement of magnets means cold air, while reduced, still gets in via the top and bottom edges. The manufacturer really should have used magnetic strips along the entire border, instead of individual, sparsely placed magnets.At some point I hope to add magnetic strips, but for now, it still makes a decent difference. I also appreciate that the look of this is fairly subtle. My husband (admittedly not THE most observant person) never even noticed it was in place until I said something.
