The best styling product I've ever put in my hair
I have straight, fine, oily hair that I slick back and tends to fall flat. Generally it needs a lot of help to have any life or texture to it. I heard about O'Douds on Youtube (Robin James/Man For Himself) and, despite its price tag, curiosity got the best of me and I ordered it. I must say, I am beyond impressed with the performance of this paste. The application: a somewhat firm, creamy texture that is overall quite easy to spread and work with. IMPORTANT: Do NOT overwork this product in your palms. O'Douds website addresses this and the flakes that appear if you do so. Essentially, your working the product into your palms rather than your hair - be gentle with spreading this in your hands and focus more on spreading it within your hair. The hold: non-sticky, matte, LASTS ALL DAY - I'm amazed by this. It's pliable enough that if you wet you fingertips you can adjust and restyle but once it dries it will do the job all day.The smell: woodsy citrus that is basically aromatherapy when you inhale as you emulsify it in your hands. The texture: takes my fine, lifeless hair and gives it hold without weighing it down and very noticeable matte texture and plumpness. I have used other products with kaolin in it and they have not performed as well as this one.The value: A little actually does go a long way so don't overdo it at first, especially if you come from using waxes and pomades like me. That being said it is a premium product so you will pay for that, however the performance lives up to the price tag.The wash: I have not had any issues washing this product out of my hair. I do, however, shampoo daily as my scalp gets very oily so I always style with a clean slate. An added bonus is that this product is all natural and the company has sustainable practices. This has officially replaced Bed Head Matte Separation Workable Wax for me, which I had been using for a couple years. Keep in mind that everyone's hair is different and so what works for one person may do absolutely nothing for another. I can only speak to the experience I've had with my hair using this and I can confidently say that I have found my new go-to styling product. How I use this product: Towel dried hair, apply a thickening prestyler, blow dry while using vented brush, apply O'Douds to dried hair in two layers: back to front to get the underside of my hair and then slicking front to back with hands, and finishing touches with fingers.Highly, highly recommended for those of us with fine, oily, lifeless hair to give texture, fullness, and all day hold.

Really Good Styling Product
I’ve been eyeing this product for a while now. Finally got to try it out for about 3 months. After getting familiar with the paste, I have to say its quite a good styling product. The hold is pretty strong while also being maleable in the hair. It also doesn’t cause as many annoying fly-aways as other stickier products (such as Pacinos). I noticed a few people complaining about the clumping issue, however, I’ve come to recognize that this only occurs when your hair or hands are really WET. So make they’re dry and make sure to warm up the product in your hands (rub them together) for 5-10 seconds. This will result in the best spread and application of the paste to your hair. As far as washability goes, it has a lot of waxes and oils so you do need to use a little bit of shampoo to get the residuals out of your hair. Overall, I would rate this 4.5/5.

Good feel, good application, but not so good for longer thick heavy hair
My hair is 7 to 8 inches, thick and heavy.Product has a great scent, very soothing and natural.Feeling is easy to spread and scoop, and easy to apply.I applied it dry or sometimes with very little moisture, no prestyler and very few times used a hair dryer.Definitely matte appearance in the hair, though not devoid of shine.Inital hold is good, but within 10 minutes for my hair it does start drooping to the side a bit. For my hair frequent restyling and reshaping does tend to happen around the 3 or 4 hour mark. Running my fingers through my hair that much is not that bad as it almost feels like there is no product on my hair.Rinsability is quite easy. Days after a shower without using shampoo does leave a little residue but it is not a problem for me.Would recommend for people with a little bit shorter hair that isnt so heavy. If you have hair like mine it is understandable the product doesnt hold it in place.

Extremely strong & unpleasant scent
Sure, it holds your hair in place, but it makes you smell like a motherf-ing hippie. I decided to try this out today for the first time, even though the smell was offputting, and realized that it was a huge mistake. I spent half of today wondering what that awful and strong smell was, only to realize that it was coming from my own head, and then the other half counting down the minutes until I could get home to wash this crap out.Be aware that even though this product has a lot of “natural” ingredients, it is formulated more like a terrible cologne than a hair product. Couldn’t advise against it more.

Works great. Instant sexy hair compliments
Great manly natural scent. Amazing non-toxic ingredients. Not oily at all. This is the only product I like for taming my thick wavy/curly hair.Routine: I suggest using Dr. Bronners peppermint hair creme right after you dry your hair after showering, then wait a minute. Put a dime sized ammount of the O’Douds on your finger, rub it into your palms equally, then dab into your hair like you’re mixing a salad, leaving the last little bit for going from the very front-back in direction. Dry your hands, then slick back with a comb on all sides. Finally use your hands to slick it back again a couple times to add a rugged touch without the comb lines.

Great Product, Strong Smell
I used to use Sebastian's Crude Clay, but wanted to make a switch to a vegan product. This product works just as well as Crude Clay, but the smell is way too strong. Another reviewer mentioned that it makes you smell like a hippie, and I have to agree.I've put it in my hair twice now, and I'm impressed by the quality and how well it texturizes and holds, but then for the next 2 hours, I have to constantly breath in this patchouli-like smell. Since I've already used it, I couldn't justify sending it back to Amazon for a refund, so I'll just give it away. If they end up making a new batch and change the smell to be more neutral or "light", I'd be happy to try it again.
