Manufacture says no chicken meal, Ingrediant list says chicken meal. What gives, seems to be contradiction?

Hello,Blue Buffalo states that their foods are free of chicken (and poultry) BY-PRODUCT meals, not regular meals. So the food is free of by-product meal made from chickens.A "Poultry by-product meal (PBM) is a high-protein commodity used as a major component in some pet foods. It is made from grinding clean, rendered parts of poultry carcasses and can contain bones, offal and undeveloped eggs, but only contains feathers that are unavoidable in the processing of the poultry parts." A regular poultry meal is just meat with the water removed for concentrated protein and a higher meat content.

Does blue buffalo freedom grain free dry kitten food make kitten's poop stinky?

All poop from all creatures has odor -- this food does not make it more so.
