Vikings - Wolves of Midgard - PlayStation 4

I was looking for a third person top down dungeon crawler game and this meets the mark.

First let me mention that this game does have "Couch-Co-Op"! Apparently there are a couple knuckle heads on here that haven't even played the same game as they are complaining that there is no "Couch-Co-Op" and that's just false, because there is! As a matter of fact it's extremely fun to play and very appealing to female gamers.My wife and myself have been having a blast playing this game together cooperatively. I play a tanky 2 handed maul Viking that worships the God Thor. My wife plays an elemental caster who wields a bo-staff and worships the God Odin. Your skill tree and powers & abilities are based off of what Norse God you decide to follow/worship. Thor is essentially a Tank skill tree, Odin is essentially a caster skill tree, Loki is essential a dual-wielding rogue skill tree, Freya is the essentially the Marksman/Hunter skill tree and ect...Like many have mentioned, this game will truly resonate with the Old School Diablo and Diablo II players like myself that love the classic "Hack & Slash" Dungeon Crawler Genre that is ARPG. Now by no means is this game fully polished. It has some bugs, and the graphics could be smoother and more polished themselves, but they aren't bad either. The game really shines at immersing you into the Nordic Lore with the characters, the story, and the beautifully detailed Scandinavian backdrops.The Skill tree and leveling system is very creative. In this game you build an altar to your chosen god and sacrifice the blood of the fallen enemies you have slayed throughout the levels to gain better favor with the Gods. In turn the Gods will bestow upon you their "Gifts" which is really a skill point to further build and develop your characters.In closing this is an Amazing game when you consider it's from a smaller game developer and is priced for $30.00 and under, making it a must buy if your a fan class Diablo/ Diablo II series and just original ARPG in general.

I've been a big fan of hack and slash, dungeon crawler and RPG type games for years. I saw this game was compared to Diablo, a game I've been a fan of since it was released on the original PlayStation. While this game isn't a Diablo clone, I have been enjoying it.

Based on the Nordic mythology, this is an exceptional Action RPG game with lots of action, an amazing game-play, excellent visuals and music, great story and setting, and, on top of all, quite bloody. I sincerely recommend it, specially for RPG fans, as it's quite enjoyable and very epic.

My 9 year old son and I play this together. And as of 9/22/23 you can play couch co/op. The box says it’s single player but there was an update at some point to ad a second player option.The game goes deep into old Norse mythology. If you are a Viking nut or maybe even heathen yourself you will get all the lore references in the game.Gameplay is almost identical to Diablo III. Some of the sound effects even seem to be the same. Though we both agreed it’s harder than Diablo. And you don’t get as many drops from enemies.Solid 4 star game.

Well, I like the game. It has some good qualities and some bad ones. Pretty evenly divided. First off, love the look of the game. Graphics are great and very crisp, love the characters and how they interact with the environment and enemies. Control not to bad, maybe a little stiff at times. But what I hate the most is the Freaking Environmental Damage, What the Hell. It's not bad enough I have to deal with enemies, but not I have to worry about whether or not I am going to die from to much elemental exposure to the environment. I guess it's kinda cool, I mean. It's kinda new and inventive...but man is it freaking annoying as all hell when your about to close in on the boss. Only to wind up taking damage from an enemy and then that one final @#$& you, we're going to damage you a final time just for the hell of it. Ugh, I have died so many times to the environment it's not even funny. Good game overall, but man is it Freaking hard as balls. Good luck

Listen, it's no Diablo BUT, because the release of fun, couch co-op games is so few and far between, we were very happy! It has a few silly problems but it's a fun hacknslash with a good amount of difficulty.
