Perfect Tool
I love love this tool. My fingers are no longer sore after pinning a king size quilt. They were out stock when I did my first queen size, so I looked for when they came back in stock.

Great choice—it is exactly as described.
Great choice—it is exactly as described. Keeps one's fingers from being all chewed up from opening and closing many safety pins.

Get this if you pin quilts!
Once upon a time, I thought I didn't need this tool. "Superfluous", I thought, while pinning a baby quilt. "I can just use my fingertips", I thought smugly. Then I had to pin a larger quilt before quilting it. Once I was 100 safety pins in, I paused that foolishness and ordered this tool. Apparently I was delusional about being able to pin a bed-sized quilt without it. Do not make my same foolhardy mistake! Save your fingertips while you can! Just spend the money and get this device. I would like to thank the quilter who thought this up and the person who turned that thought into reality. Simple design, no moving parts, so functional. It works so well that I don't want to go back to my old, painful methodology. Just follow the directions on the package. Unlike some quilting tools, this works equally well for righties or lefties. You'll be glad you bought this if you pin larger quilts.

Finger saver!
I was shown how to use this in a quilting class. It is made to help you close quilting safety pins (which, unlike regular ones, are curved.). You may use a large number of pins when prepping a quilt and closing them can make your fingers sore. This does take a bit of practice, but it’s worth the effort. Once I learned how to use it, my fingers were much less tired & sore. In fact, I liked it enough to buy a second one (one for the house, one to take to classes.)

Kwik Klip for Quilting
The Paula Jean Creations Kwik Klip Brass Tip, Brown tool was exactly what I was looking for to aid in pinning my quilt layers together! It seems a bit pricey, but well worth the money in the time saved and, also saving my fingernails from chipping by constantly trying to pin thick layers of fabric together.

Pin clip
This is an essential tool for those of us who pin quilts and then do our own quilting. It does what it says... it opens and closes those pins easily and efficiently. I give them away as gifts to new quilters.
