Good for a travel/spare/entry level ... not for everyday shaving.
The media could not be loaded. First of all ... if you want a good shaving brush, this isn't it. This is adequate to use if you want to see what proper shaving is all about, as an entry-level sort of brush ... however, if you are wanting to experience a proper gentleman's shave, this will leave much to be desired vs. a badger hair brush. I am not sure that there is a market for people looking for an inexpensive shaving brush ... maybe the vegan market is in play? It seems if someone is going to go through the hassle of what it takes to use shave soap and a brush, they'd want to invest in a good shave brush. Here is whom might find this brush useful:- Vegans ... although the synthetic bristles lack the firmness of real badger hair, which helps froth up the shave cream and lift hairs on the face for a better shave, no badgers were harmed in the making of this brush. The bristles are soft and flexible, so those with sensitive skin might appreciate that ... but true fans of a shave know how envigorating stiffer bristles can be.- Those who travel and don't want to pack an expensive brush and shave kit. Even the most expensive badger bristle brushes need to be treated gently. If banged around, the bristles will fall out or become uneven. This is a nice alternative for a business trip because at under $10, you can knock it around a bit in a suitcase and replace it, if need be.- Someone who is thinking how cool the 'art' of shaving might be and wants to try it without committing to buy a top of the line shaving set. While shaving the proper way isn't rocket science, it also can be a hassle and I know a lot of people who spend $300 on a nice brush, bowl and straight razor who end up using it only a few times because of how time consuming it is.Overall, this is a classy looking brush. I'd never be able to tell based on looks that the bristles were synthetic. The handle looks like polished wood or stone and the underside has an embossed logo. It looks good on a shelf ... and looks much more expensive than it is. While I'd use this as a spare, or travel brush, don't believe all the influencers who say this is as good as a more expensive brush. It gives you the same shaving process with about 60% less feel. The packaging is good for gifting ... it comes in a cardboard tube. Perfect for a sticking stuffer with a metal safety razor for a little vintage vibe.

An Astounding Deal
Disclosure: This was sent to me for free via the Vine program. I did not receive monetary compensation to write this review, just the product itself. For the longest time I, personally, didn't like synthetic brushes. The ones I had tried had shed like crazy, like a Samoyed in the summer, and often were just...rough. So rough that no matter how much breaking in you did on the brush it just never was comfortable to shave with; it was like trying to lather with a loofah. I like my lathers smooth and hair free, so I shied away from artificial brushes...until the Rubab showed up. I liked the look of it and the price seemed REAL right so I decided it was time to try it again. Besides, I needed a dedicated shaving brush for my arms. Yeah, I shave my arms. You spend as much time as I do getting medically induced waxings from IVs, blood draws, and all sorts of hospital-grade adhesives, you learn real quick to just shave your arms and save yourself the pain. So I put in for the Rubab, put a blade in my shavette, and got ready to get my arms baby smooth. The Rubab Bomber edition came in a bubble mailer in a small tube box. Nothing fancy, just the brush in a slightly cheap cardboard box where you have to cut the paper ends off to get it out. I popped it out and immediately began breaking it in by soaking it in hot water. To my surprise...it didn't shed. Like...at all. I checked the box to see where it was made and saw that it was made in India and that made me feel better about it. I don't know if you know but India is one of the last few major markets for wet shaving as cartridge razors just never took off there due to the obscene prices and the general availability of good quality, low price wet shaving kit like this. So leave it to India to make a synthetic with a knot that wouldn't shed fibers no matter how hard I tried. I lathered it in brush cleaner, rinsed it several times, then lathered it with soap and let it sit overnight. In the morning, I washed it off and it was...smooth. SO smooth. The smoothest synthetic I've ever tried. I figured it would be too good to be true so I put it through the ultimate test: using shaving cream and lathering on the skin. I coated my arms in shaving cream and applied the brush and...it lathered like a CHAMP. It was like nothing could stop this thing. I shaved both arms in record time without having to relather them or do anything. And when I went to rinse the lather from the brush, it wouldn't let go of it. It really clinged in there, which is what you want from a good brush. Even a cursory lather on the skin had this thing soaked in soap down to the knot in the handle. I was impressed. So it performs well but what about the cost? Friends...dear readers...this brush is $8. I have a few brushes in my collection that perform worse than this and cost me nearly $30 and they're actual badger bristle. I don't know what magic they worked to make this stellar product but I'm glad they did it. This is a great brush. I will admit, it's a bit on the small side so it may be better for a dopp kit than a daily driver but if it's all you can afford, go for it. It won't let you down. I've been using it to shave my arms for a few months now and it's just never quit, never shed, never stopped whipping up gorgeous lather. I can't think of a better brush to spend $8 in the shaving world. Get a few for you, a few for friends, heck, even a few for strangers. Totally worth it.
