I love it! figuring out how to charge it though is, another story.
So something I noticed is once it's extended it becomes more like a club and I feel it would break if you had to use it in combat so I find it more efficient to just keep at its initial length. I definitely like the strobe light effect. When it's dark out you can move into a defensive posture and activate the strobe, Theoretically blinding them before switching it to the taser and using it to make your attacker more hesitant to continue the engagement. The instructions on how to charge the device itself were not exactly clear to me. I contacted the seller to see if they could explain in a different sense and they did the best they could to assist but the only gave me the same directions that came with it. After several hours of trying to find something I finally found a video explaining with a similar device on how to get it to charge. Once the device is fully off, plug the charger into the baton before plugging the charging box into the wall. When you do so the light should remain off indicating it is not charging. When successful turn the power to the baton on, at this point the charge box connected to the wall will light up as well as the light on the baton. If you turn it off both lights will. Switch between the baton button which changes it's function until you pass the stun and light setting. This third function is the mode as referenced in the directions which allows it to charge. It takes about 8 hours and if done improperly it will not charge at all. When given time I will eventually be posting a overview video on YouTube for this as well as an overview of its pros & cons. Now for my overall evaluation of it, I mainly bought it because it was cool but I had to use it to fight off a intruder attempting a home invasion and I was grateful for having it as it allowed me to incapacitate one as I drained the entire charge on the first intruder and the second one seeing their accomplice twitching on the floor, bailed. So these guys will have my business.

Piece of Crap, Dont Buy. Charging Instructions Here.
Have fun if your battery dies, recharging is impossible. You have no idea of the switch positions and even still the crap battery won't hold a charge once drained. If you want proof, get a 18650 Charger and try charging, it won't hold a charge. Beside's they need to be clear about charging, I had to search for proper charging. The seller is just off-loading a bunch of china crap. If needed get replacement batteries (18650 Flat-Top for about 2x = $20) and charge in a charger instead of the Baton. Mind you, there is a "Placer Battery" with a positive tip, it holds a slight charge. The real battery is the deepest one with a flat top.If Battery Has Some Charge:1. Check Battery Polarity (See Below)2. Make sure the Device is off.3. Plug charger into the device NOT the wall yet.4. Press the Master Power Button to turn on. The LED on charger will light up if not fully dead.5. Make sure the device is in Charging Mode (See Below)6. Press the Master Power Button to turn off, and plug charger into the wall. DO NOT use a power extension, plug directly into wall!7. Press the Master Power Button to turn on, Charger LED should turn red until fully charged. If Battery is Dead:1. Check Battery Polarity (See Below)2. Make sure the Device is off.3. Plug charger into the device first then the wall.4. Press the Master Power Button to turn on.5. The Mode button LED should turn green (we're feeding power from charger). Press Mode button until you see the Charge/Stun button LED turn on, press once more.6. Press the Master Power Button to turn off, unplug from the wall. Wait a few seconds then plug back into wall and press the Master Power to turn back on, Charger LED should turn red until fully charged.Check Battery Polarity:The real battery is the deepest (or the one you put in first). It is a flat-top battery, the one with a positive tip is a spacer battery with slight charge. Since the battery is flat-top the end that goes in first has like 3 notches on it (positive), the negative end is purely flat. Put the real battery in first, then the spacer. The battery type is 18650. Best to buy your own battery's since the orig are very poor quality. Here is a good charger: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C778JN2Z?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleCharging mode:Turn on Master Power Button.Press the Mode button until you see the Charge/Stun button LED turn on, press the Mode button once more. If the LED doesn't turn on but the flashlight does, then press the Mode button 2 more times. Basically if device was turned off before battery died and not if stun mode, the 1st press is the light, the second press is stun mode, the 3rd mode is Charging/Off. This is the hardest part, getting into the right mode if battery is dead but by using the charger to supply power it makes it a lot easier to figure out the mode.

Made with Aluminum and not Plastic
I haven't had to use it yet, but it seems to be very well made. Only time will tell. It does seem like the directions are not correct, but it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. The batteries are NOT 20.00 for a pair as I have 4 or 5 flashlights that use the same batteries, Amazon sells an 8 pack for a little over 11.00. these batteries are like ALL OTHER batteries, they have a nipple is positive + on one end and are flat on the other end negative -, pretty much like any other DC battery I've ever used. IF you can shock yourself with this, it's probably a good idea to sell it and carry a cop everywhere you go. If you can't handle one of these buying a gun would be very dangerous for your health. There's no doubt it's made in China, if you have to have something American made be prepared to spend a lot more money, and still not be satisfied. I walk my son's German Shepherd with it twice a day, I've never had to use it yet, but the sound it makes is enough to make any dog change their minds.
