It is pretty and cool looking. I, however, wish it is a bit bigger.

This is a great size and not too unsightly for keeping on the kitchen countertop. Keeps smells in pretty well! Works with or without liner bags. Easy to clean. The carbon filter square gets gross pretty easily, and when it's removed from the lid for cleaning, fruit flies start accumulating. So I'd recommend having replacement squares on hand.

I purchased the stone color countertop model a couple of months ago, once I decided it was finally time to start separating and recycling my food waste (we have a municipal collection program). This model was more expensive than some others I considered, but it looked sturdier and more attractive. I'm extremely pleased with it. I keep the bin on my countertop next to my cutting board and I don't mind the look of it at all. It is easy to use (lid has a convenient tab for opening and it stays propped open well when you're chopping etc., and the size of the bin is perfect for my family (which ranges from 2-5 people depending on who is around). When the lid is closed, the bin is odor-proof. I ended up buying the FORID 1.2 gallon small compostible bags as liners and they work well. You can twist the excess bag length and catch it in the designated hole in the base of the bin to keep the bag tight. All in all, a great product.

Good bags, no leakage. But I kept getting fruit flies laying eggs all over the inside, including the filter. Which turned into maggots in just a couple of days. I don't have a need to change the bag every day, but this is gross.

I’d been looking for a compost bin that doesn’t cause my compost to smell. The design of this is beautiful and ergonomic.

we loved the design of this unit and used it for most of the year. we started to see fruit flies and wondered how to deal with it. now we put the unit in our freezer (bottom drawer freezer) and just scape our food scraps into it while it sits in the freezer. garbage night we pull out the bag and empty into a paper bag to put in our compost garbage bin. we can even re-use the bag because nothing sticks to it. much easier and clean. we don't have to worry about compostable bags at all either.
