Works well, handles smoothly, and looks beautiful

I have to crush two pills for my dog every meal, one is larger than a quarter And the other is a normal pill size but also thick. I was using my fingers to break them up before and then when that couldn't get it small enough. I was using scissors to cut it down. I tried putting them in a plastic bag and smashing them with the hammer, I tried a different screw down pill crusher. Nothing worked very well, this thing works like a charm and gets the job done very quickly. Since this is the only thing I use it for, I'm not worried about the pills or the leftover dust getting impregnated into anything else and it works really well and crushes everything down very very quickly and easily. I strongly recommend this to anybody who asked you to crush pills more than once a day.

Part of the interior surface of the mortar is ground as one would expect, but other parts of it are smooth. This makes it very difficult to grind into fine powders.

Great design, gets the job done well with dried herbs from our garden.
