Yes, both the nail file and buffer shiner are made of glass. The buffer shiner is laser etched, with nano friction surface it can make your nails shiny and smooth. The nail file is acid etched, so the surface is much rougher, suitable for shaping and manicuring nails.

Are the file and buffer two sided?

The file is 2 sided. I use one side of the buffer for shine and finish with the smooth side. I LOVE THEM. Wish I had my whole life I bought on Amaxon a "white pencile" you use under finger nails. Your nails look like a professional manicure. VERY HIGH SHINE. Helps with the annoying roughness on nails. CANT GGO WRONG Rinse if you want. Last a life time. Bought a spare for my purse.
