California BabySuper Sensitive SPF 30-1.8 oz

I use this as a daily sunscreen on my (adult) face. This is not an "elegant" sunscreen - you have to rub it in to avoid looking white. Once it's on, it leaves a very healthy shine.My face is prone to eczema. In the past few months, I have tried Andalou Naturals, MyChelle, Badger, Neutrogena Baby, and probably a few others that I have forgotten. I started looking into what ingredients may be causing all this irritation, discovering that some people are sensitive to titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. To test this out (very unscientifically), I bought this suncreen (with only titanium dioxide) and Badger (with only zinc oxide). My face becomes itchy within a few minutes of applying the Badger sunscreen, even though I can tolerate it on other parts of my body. The California Baby Sunscreen has been fantastic! My face has cleared up. Thank you, California Baby!

This sunscreen does not make me itch or break out.That's the good news.The bad news is that it's exactly like smearing yourself with Desitin. I feel like a diaper.It stays sticky as long as you wear it. Not only does stuff stick to you, the sunscreen rubs off. I now have a subtle white greasy smear inside my car where my arm rubbed the door.It is very hard to wash off, and that is probably the biggest problem. If you are prone to eczema, you try to use a gentle soap and not scrub too hard. That is simply not an option with California Baby. You need serious soap and scrubbing to remove the greasy whiteness.

Allergen-safe for someone who is Ana to soy, sunflower, nuts, and almost everything else! :) Really good stuff! I have found some mineral formulations that spread on easier, but this is less greasy feeling and dries down without shine or stickiness. Also not so perfumed, which I like. Yes, there is a bit of a white cast, that’s how non-toxic sunblock works.

Pros: NEVER burns your eyes . As a sweaty runner and in the heat all day long gardener, I need that. This is only soft I have ever found that will not burn when it drips in your eyes (which they all will eventually).Cons: Pure zinc means it goes on white and verrrry hard to rub in til it's clear. Even after rubbing and putzing around house 30 mins before going outside so it will soak in, it is still a white cast even then. Annoying. Wish they made a more sheer version that doesn't burn sensitive eyes but til I find it this remains my Go To.

I got this for the ears of my white cat (it is impossible to find a product specifically for cats) who likes his sunshine.I like that it doesn't contain any salycilates or other chemicals that are toxic to cats when absorbed through the skin.I was concerned that it does contain titanium dioxide, which is unhealthy for cats to ingest, but we use it sparingly and he doesn't protest too much when I apply it. Once it's there he pretty much leaves it alone.Later, when I check again it's still there (a little dried up and dirty, but still there) so I'm not too concerned about him ingesting it.I'm happy with the product and feel better that his ears are protected.
