Does this electric grill have a lid cover ?

The advertisement says it has a slightly domed lid yet people are saying it doesn’t have a lid. Did anyone get a lid with their?

Please tell me how this differs from a Raclette grill. Based on your experience would you prefer 1 over the other, why?

I don't know a Raclette grill. But right now I'm not happy with the MaxiMatic. After just a few uses it now shuts down after just a few minutes. I had to unplug it, wait a few, then plug it back in. Contacted customer service Sept 4, said it sounded like the thermostat and they would probably replace it but haven't heard anything since. Right now, I no longer recommend the MaxiMatic.

Has anyone had a problem with the light not going off? The light did not go off at all but after 10 min, I cooked steaks.

Is the light suppose to go off? I would assume if the light goes off it drops below operating temperatures since it illuminates when hot and ready. Or is it the other way around?

Is the watt 1400 or 850 watt?

It's wattage is adjustable as the temperature increases. I do believe max temperature could be as high as 1400 watts. On a15 amp service it never tripped a breaker.
