i see "threads are fairly standard" one review says does not fit so does this fit standard paint pole threads?

Yes, standard paint pole threads. Its a heavier brush so a pole with a metal end instead of a wood pole with threads works best. I had the threaded wood pole and it would not stay on but swapped to a pole with metal threads and works great.

Does it attach to any pole such as a push broom pole? I have an extendable pole already but the end is like a paint roller and broom thread

Yes a paint roller type thread is what it uses. I also got a mr long arm angle adaptor so I could get the right angle of brush to pole I used it to clean solar panels
