Q: Do you need to know how to connect this up to wires to install? Or call an electrician?

there are just two wires to connect, live and neutral. As long as you can identify the incoming live and neutral wires (the live will be coming from the switch) the connection is straightforward. The unit is double insulated so doesn't need to be earthed and in fact there is no earth wire on the unit, just (as I said) live and neutral.

Hi you fit a bracket to the ceiling then the unit fits to it with two screws 👍 The bracket fits flush to the ceiling hope this helps 👍

Q: Can i use an led dimmer switch with this?

i do not think so it is described as not dimmable in the description. trying a dimmer switch would probably damage it.
