Q: How does this mouse compare to a Logitech G series, like the G700s?

The CAD mouse is great. Easily programmable including macros. I love the 2 buttons instead of using the wheel for a third button. I highly recommend it. i have logitech G700 and it does not compare. realize that it is a wired mouse only.

Q: What is the difference between this mouse and any other standard pc mouse (ie, logitech performance mx)?

This mouse has a dedicated middle button (as well as a depress-able scroll wheel) for CAD programs like Siemens NX/Unigraphics (middle button = enter). And the laser sensor allegedly has finer resolution than most other mouses (I can't tell the difference there).

Q: How much functionality is lost if i can't install the software package at work?

If you customize your buttons you lose that but if you use as default you will be ok

Q: Will this work on my mac? i use the 3dconnexion spacenavigator on my mac with autodesk fusion 360 with my left hand and wanted to add cadmouse for use
