This is a great rack
I bought this rack to put on my 2000 Kodiak 400 4x4 I read a lot of negative reviews but for the price I couldn't pass it up I received it at 11:30 this morning it arrived 8 days early the box was destroyed but there was no missing pieces and no damage to the pieces I started assembly and took my time laid everything out and assembly went really well all holes are drilled in the right places everything lined up perfectly note do not tighten any nuts or bolts until you are completely finished with assembly then go back and tighten all your nuts and bolts when I was finished with assembly I mounted it to the four-wheeler drilled all holes needed to mount the rack then removed it and painted it reinstalled it put all fasteners tightened everything down keep in mind this is a universal fit rack the bolts are too long for my application but it's better than them being too short all I had to do was trim them I use a grinder with a cut off wheel total assembly and mounting time including paint 4 and 1/2 hours don't be afraid of the negative reviews this is a great rack I could not have built it for the price that I paid for it $116 it is very sturdy well built looks really nice only time will tell how well it holds up

Could be better
Love the design but quality control missed this one. Had to spray paint it before install because the powder coat job was terrible and missing in a few places. The holes weren’t completely punched through but easily fixed that with a small bolt and hammer. The back gate is locked by a linch pin that’s on the inside of the basket that doesn’t make sense if you are carrying cargo.

Chinese garbage. Spend more on something else.
Save yourself the headache and buy something else first off. While I’m mechanically inclined I was able to assemble it easily I had the get out the angle grinder to knock down welds so piece would join together properly. I was also short some bolts which wasn’t a surprise. Almost every piece was scratched up with paint peeling. While they had the right idea on planning this basket it was executed poorly. The tailgate doesn’t function. Again I had to grind down some of the tubes slightly because it was too wide and the welded on hinges didn’t line up. At this point I’m not too rattled as I got it swing up and down properly but it’s still tight and you need to use force to align it in the upward position. I went to put the clevis pins in to lock it upwards and the holes are way off. Now I’m pissed.... it’ll be returned without a doubt. I didn’t realize this store was local for me so they’ll hear about this BS in person.

Product excceded expectations
Read several of the reviews, especially the negative ones regarding the difficulty of assembly. Still, I purchased this product because of the price and have been very happy. While the instructions aren't the best, they are more than enough to assemble the rack. Rack is sturdy and fits great on my ATV. Think the key is to follow the instructions and not tighten the bolts until everything is assembled. Great product for the money.

My two cents
Well, got mine yesterday; and believe the reviews! It was a pain in rear end putting it together. The instructions were so small i had to go get some glasses with magnification. The assemlby went decently after that until you reached the back basket part with the drop gate. The drop gate is FUBAR. Welds are off on the hinges and the holes do not line up. Recommend when assembling the 2 L&R walls that the gate is supposed to be looked to. Put the bolts in and leave them loose. I desided not to leave the drop gate droppable so i bolted them. Then adjusted the holes for the hidges with a tap drill bit and placed the bolts in. And then did i only tighten all the hard wear on the back part of the basket. As well. The paint sucks! Had rain last night after assembling it (and rhis was in the open garage) and ths morning rust had already set in on the metal. What ever this company is using isnt a rust proof paint. So i painted it with three coats of rustoleum flat black. When that was dry, i rubber coated the back basket part. There is a part where the basket connects to the front part of the system where there is nothing blocking water from getting into the tubbing and rusting it from within. I pressure wash my ATV at least once weekly and all that water is going to accomilate in the tube system. So corked it and sprayed rubber coat on it. So the basket system is totally rubberized. Quitens metal on metal for you hunters out there. And lastly, the mounting plates for you folks running old school tubular racks. Go with U bolts. Screw the plates unless your using the new composint (plastic) racks. No knowledge on that. I have tubular on my 2006 arctic cat 500. U bolts work great! So for the price, its not bad if you have mechanical abilities, the right tools and patience. I can hual alot more now.

Great rack. Just needs a little love.
When I researched this, I saw 50+ lbs of pre-bent steel that could (with a little help from a few scraps of steel and a Harbor Freight welder) be turned into something sturdy and useful. I was ready for missing instructions or hardware. I planned on using some grade 8's anyway. And you can modify it to meet your needs at the same time. I had to notch it to clear the seat on my '99 Polaris Magnum. Used the scrap piece for reinforcement elsewhere. As for the powder coating, yea, its thin in places but Rustoleum fireplace paint works as a great touch-up. Overall very pleased. A+

Great idea! Horrible QC and workmanship!
I should have known better. I read the bad reviews. I watched the videos and the complaints. They are true! I mean....it works sort of. Nothing is square. Gaps are a real problem. So much the tailgate is unusable. Spend more for a better built product!

Able to put my chainsaw and a 5 gallon bucket with gas and tools easily. Really going to be a convenience.
