You need to break the old one. Read on..
Looks great.I have a2017 gmc sierra.The fob comes with a circuit board and new battery.Now listen to me.Do not try to save your old case. Won't happen!You need to pry / break the chrome pieces off with a flat #2 screwdriver.Then twist the screwdriver in any Crack you see.ALL YOU NEED TO SAVE IS THE GREEN CIRCUIT BOARD!Forget youtube.Then just put your board in the new one. You DO NOT have to get it calibrated at a dealer or lock Smith this way.If you want to keep your GMC logo on the remote you will need to cut away at the plastic from the cover. The cover has a round ridge that surrounds the battery.Cut that away. Your original cover with the logo snaps right into the new fob .Done.

Did not work on 2019 Z71 Colorado Don't Buy
Had to return.Chevrolet dealer tried several times, as I watched to sync this remote to my 2019 Colorado Z71 with remote start. It would not work. Unfortunately I was still on the hook for the labor fee, which I knew before hand.So I purchased a remote from the dealer parts dept and watched as the tech ran through the same process and genuine remote worked on the first try.Don't bother.
