My Fluval 406 suddenly picked up a lot of uncharacteristic noise; didn’t realize what the problem was until I was replacing the impeller and noticed that it was the cover that had a broken tab. So now I have a spare impeller…but this cover certainly did the trick!

NOT A GOOD FIT
Bought 2 of these covers and both failed. It was a tight fit to replace - - - but within a day or two would snap offthe impeller position and fall onto filter body. (Inside housing)Was able to correct problem by using another of the same part taken from a filter head kit. - A GOOD FIT!

It fit's on my 406
My impeller was out of balance. I first just replaced the impeller, but then had to order the cover as well. Save yourself the time, order the impeller and cover together. Once I put this on, no more weird noises, and great water flow.

It does not seat firmly because it has only one clip.
I wish it to be designed with two clips. The filter makes too much noise because the cover does not seat firmly in place.
