I love Field Trip beef jerky (I usually get the big bags at wholesale store) but the times I’ve gotten these little bags they were so hard I couldn’t even bite/chew it.

"The One"
So just as a precursor, since I know everyone has different taste in jerky, I'll tell you what I prefer. I like jerkys that are less sweet, not overpoweringly smokey/hickory, has a little kick to it without feeling like my lips are burning for the following hour, and just dry enough so it gives you a nice chew but not so dry it crumbles. This jerky was a home-run for me! I have been experimenting with many different brands, and this field trip jerky just landed the #1 spot.I find it to be very flavorful, not overpoweringly spicy or sweet but a nice balanced flavor. It is a little on the chewier side but by no means dry or crumbly. Nice size pieces, too, so I am not sitting at my desk at work playing tug of war between my hand and face (you know the awkward teeth bared, straining your neck and yanking the other end of your jerky with your hand pose). The fact that it is all natural, no nitrates, no MSG added, no HFC really solidifies it for me. I would say it is a really reasonable price for well seasoned, great quality jerky. Will buy again!

Excellent Jerky
This really is great jerky - taste, texture, real meat, good spices - good stuff. And no, I would not give this to a dog - this is people food folks. Order more than one bag - once it's opened, can't seem to stop eating until the bag is empty. But if you find yourself with a piece or two left in the bag and are able resist the urge to wolf 'em down, the bag does have a zip lock style closure. Good size for travel - easy to toss in carry-on or backpack. Beats the heck out of airline peanuts.

Good and Healthy but not the best out there
When I first tried this jerky I liked it but it has kind of a strong after taste. It also seems to have a lot of pepper. However, after trying country archer jerky I am not coming back to this one. It's not bad at all though, I just found a better option.

Delicious but expensive jerky
This a good dry jerky with a heavy soy flavor on the initial bite. Not salty tasting but heavy on the soy (which I don't mind). Although pineapple and brown sugar is listed, I don't taste it in this flavor. There may be a hint of garlic. Lingering taste is pepper which lights up the taste buds similar to MSG so it's interesting they replicated the sensation without using it. It's not a pepper jerky but you'll feel a little heat on your taste buds and the back of the throat as you swallow.I don't know why the packaging is resealable. I doubt someone is eating an ounce and thinking, "Oh man, this is so filling, I'll need to save the second ounce for later." That person is not me, because I'm eating it all in one sitting. This have that (awful) chopped and pressed taste like some oddly popular brands, just strips of real beef. Overall, a great tasting jerky. My only issue is with the price but you're paying for USA made instead of chopping down rainforests in some South American country. Still, $2.75/oz is pretty expensive jerky. I'd consider buying a larger bulk-sized package if they can bring the price per ounce down.

Taste OK, VERY tuff, very hard, not best cuts of meat. Teariki tastes Bitter!!!!!
(Regular) Flavor is OK. Texture is like LEATHER. meat is very hard and dried out. A few pieces are OK, others were so tuff that you had to soak them in your mouth and it never got soft.Walmart brand is much better. BIG disappointment. Cows must be wiregrass feed LOL(Teriyaki) tasted bitter. NASTY!! Not at all like I expected. Got sick at my stomach shortly after eating it. May have been bad but the bag was sealed and fresh as far as I can tell. Was softer than (regular flavor) but tasted BAD!!!!

Lots of flavor, along with some heat
Really good jerky --- just the way I remember it from many years ago. This No. 3 version is just a tad too peppery for me (makes my bald head perspire....), so I will experiment with other versions. Flavor is terrific, though.
