Hello the Carol Hochman seamless briefs are made up of 94% Nylon / 6% Spandex therefore they do not offer a lot of moisture wicking. A cotton, cotton blend or polyester would do a better job for moisture wicking concerns.

Q: why is this product double the price of last year?

I noticed that too. Try Costco or other box larger store for more competitive pricing

I am like you if you purchased XL size they would fit. You will love them. But the L/XL size they also make would not. The XL is 4 times the price as lower sizes Costco has these in all sizes for less then 12. I wish Carole Hochman brand made their seamless full coverage briefs in XXL size.
