Q: Can regular "old school" bulbs be used?

yes, we used a standard bulb. There is a restrictions on how many watts. I think 100? I don't remember but its on the tag. The quality of the lamp was better than I expected and it matched very expensive alabaster fixtures we have in the same room. I definitely would buy it again

I replaced mine. lamp glass.nu #9881 But the price was as much as the purchase of a new lamp.

It is a dark marble look piece. Not sure what the material is.
