Yes, they need to be assembled. There is a connecting device between the two bow limbs, and it is installed by inserting it into the two bow limbs. Then install the grip pad, just close the zipper, and finally install the bowstring on the bow., and the entire installation process does not exceed 5 minutes.

Q: Would this be suitable with 700 spine arrows?

I use 800 spine for this bow. The bow also doesnt feel like 20 lbs, unless you draw to maybe 31 or 32 inch.
