Q: I've heard that this product is similar to the old fashoned Lifebuoy Soap from the 1940's. Is this true?

Yes it is, but keep the soap in a dish as it will slightly stain synthetic surfaces red. And the shower and any plastic curtain!

Q: does this soap stain the shower permanently?

I have not found any surface yet that this soap will stain permanently. It's just soap and rinses clean. It does leave a pink residue in the soap dish which can be cleaned up with a cleaning rag and warm water.

Q: I have read that carbolic soap bars have a strong medicinal smell. Does this smell remain on the body after rinsing?

Only for a VERY SHORT time (a few minutes) - very refreshing feeling and smell. I have been using this soap for over twenty years.

Q: Heard that carbolic acid is a good snake repellent ??

I'm sorry, but I have no idea. I would think that the smell would repel a snake, though
