Exactly what I needed for my project.
I needed to replace an old pincushion and I saw a video on how to make a sashiko biscornu. The video called for about 2 cups of ground walnut shells. This 2-cup pack was exactly the right size. And with the ziplock packaging, I was able to pour the fine grit directly into my project without needing a funnel or any other implement.

Solves problem the problem of dull pins
I keep my pins for a long time, and they have been getting dull. I decided to make myself an emery sand-filled pin cushion so that I could keep them sharp. I was worried that it would be harder to insert pins, but they go in easily. The bag is heavier than a usual pincushion, but I like that. It sits nicely on the table. Because the sand is fine, I used a double layer of fabric. I also put a cardboard insert between the bottom layers so the bag doesn't sag when I pick it up. The sand is very fine, so I used a funnel and put the pin cushion in a shallow box to fill it. Overall a successful project. I liked it so much that I ordered another bag of sand and my daughter made a couple.

My only complaint was that it was VERY fine...consequently you need more for the fill and the weight.
