Source Naturals Beta Carotene 25000 iu Antioxidant Protection - Converted by Body to Vitamin A - 100 Softgels

I have a relative with Acute Intermittent Porphyria, a rare blood disorder. A recent Mayo Clinic study suggested Beta Carotene provides relief from some of the abdominal pain in certain patients. As any extra Beta Carotene is changed to Vitamin A in the body, we use a dose of 2 pills a day and it works. I'm not sure what other health benefits this supplement will provide to others as this is such a rare disorder (and will not help everyone who has it). Please note this is a highly rare situation and it's highly unlikely this supplement would provide any abdominal relief to any other medical problem.This is not the first Source Naturals product I've purchased. Our bodies have trouble recognizing and using manufactured vitamins and minerals per our nutritionist. Her advice strikes a core of common sense so I decided to switch. She refrains from recommending any brand only saying it's key to find a reputable company who provides supplements from natural ingredients. Source Naturals is my choice based on customer reviews and test results by the government on all brands of supplements verifying accuracy to the label. The few negative test results I found are for having too much of a listed item (i.e. 200 mg of vitamin B listed and testing measures 450mg.), never not enough or none at all like other companies. I'll take a guess that the amount of any vitamin or mineral can be different from one source to the next when using a natural component to start. So far we've made a switch on a multi-vitamin as well and are very pleased with this company. There is plenty of info out there, do your own research if you have the time.Please do not take anything I've written as health advice or a health recommendation. There is so little out there to help those with Porphyria. I do hope this stirs a conversation between anyone dealing with the disease and their doctor. It's also easy to run an internet search for the Mayo Clinic test data as well. I will be buying more of this product and switching all of our supplements to Source Naturals going forward.

If I take one a day it keeps the acne away. For real. I know that Accutane is derived from vitamin A, and that beta-carotene is supposed to be the more natural form of vitamin A, so I decided to try it for my acne and it has worked fabulously. I don't worry about over-doing the beta-carotene since its supposed to be hard to overdose on this form of vitamin A, and by keeping my vitamin A levels high, it changes my complexion completely and gets rid of all the cystic, hormonal acne. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who battles with cystic or hormonal acne.

Source Naturals is a very good and digestible supplement. Will purchase again.

Got this when I overheard an Optomologist saying it was something everyone needs to take to keep your eyes healthy. I work at that because my mother has Macular degeneration. The price here was very good . Always nice to find what you need at Amazon.

The product is what it says on the tin. Only remark I can say is that the capsules are really small, smooth and very easy to swallow with water. Apart from this, it is simply beta carotene. Just don't abuse it, since even one-a-day will give you a yellow skin tone, which I reassure you is not necessary neither pretty. I take it two to three times a week (the dosage is really high) and I think there's no reason for anyone to take more, unless under doctor supervision.

Not much to say; Beta carotene is beta carotene. One has to trust the company to deliver what it says on the label.
