Arrma 550 mega lineup are garbage dont buy brushed motor versions im furious i hope maybe ho
I bought this arrma 550 brushed motor as a replacement for my arrma granite mega 4x4 and just like the first 3 replacements. Yes the motor burned out 3 times and im on my fourth 12 turn arrma brushed motor. these last 2 motors i had to buy since my warranty is up . the first 3 i didnt have to pay for since i was still under warranty. i had put in under warranty by the hobby shop i bought it from it also burned out and stopped working i smelled that burnt solder smell and knew it was happening again i am disgusted with the arrma mega lineup ALL of the 550 mega brushed versions of the granite and senton typhon ect. R garbage with the brushed setup. I also have a brushless version of the senton and big rock and i havent had any issues with the motor or esc. Just the servo on the senton but that wasnt a big deal but going through brushed motors that many that fast is absolutely ridiculous i baby the heck out of it and broke it in and and cleaned it with both the water method and then electric motor cleaner and a few drops 1 drop on both ends of shaft and 1 drop on "commutator" i plan on reaching out to horizon hobby and see if there is something they can do cause im so mad i wana troll and bomb the hell out of this lineup and let every1 know dpnt dare spend money on the 550 mega lineup the motor and esc r garbage and the price differrnce between the 550 mega and the 3s blx isnt that big about $90 difference i never would hav bpught the granite 550 mega brushed or any brushed arrma i deff would hav spent the $90 to get the brushless 3s blx version from the start

Pricey, worked well
It was the right part and as described. Good quality but on the pricey side. Functional with car and fit great.

He Dead
I bought this after reading other bad reviews stating it died very quickly thinking that it wouldn’t happen to me.It lasted exactly 1 time, tried multiple batteries with it and determined it is definitely dead after maybe 12 minutes of use.

Good if used for normal use
If you upgraded to LiPo, you may want to stock up. Using the stock battery the motor will last much longer. Granted, it would be easier going brushless, but a set will cost over $100 and by that point you should have just bought the 3S model for $100 instead of the 550 Mega. Keep in mind that the motor this is on is the welcome to RC models.

worked
fixed my issue for a short time, most already know this but if you drive your RC a lot or run bigger batteries, just go brushless... it will save you time and money in the long run.
