Great But Heavy
The battery itself is great. It powers more everything I needed it to and then some. The weight is a bit much if you are not strong enough to hold it up for hours.

Power leakage
Pretty decent V-Mount battery. The power leakage is pretty bad. I usually lose a noticeable amount of percentage after it’s fully charged.UPDATE: SmallRig reached out to me and offered to send a replacement for the battery that had power leaking issues. I was really impressed by their stellar customer service. The replacement I received is noticeably better than the one I bought. I’m glad they acknowledged and improved their product quality.

A Perfect Battery
UPDATED REVIEW 2024-08-20:Smallrig let me use another battery to see if the power leakage was just an issue with the one I had. The new battery works perfectly just like their other batteries. I’m updating my review from 2 stars (which I originally had because reliability mattered a lot to me) to 5 stars. The battery is reliable and has multiple uses outside of just my video production. I now feel confident taking this on shoots and knowing I’m covered for the day. I highly recommend this battery! If you run into any issues (like I did), reach out to Smallrig. They have great customer service and truly want to make things right. One trick they taught me is that there is a way to potentially reset the battery to factory settings. You can repeatedly press the power button (like over 10 times) quickly or you can hold it for like 20 seconds (not sure which way worked for me, but I did try both and was able to get the broken battery to reset). This reset didn’t immediately fix my issue with the original battery, but after some tinkering, I was able to have it match the new one Smallrig sent.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I love the ports, the amount of power, and how it feels and looks, but that’s where the praise ends.I’ve had this for almost 4 months now and when it’s not in use, it loses a lot of power over time unlike any of the other Smallrig batteries I own. After about a week of no use, it drops to 70ish percent and by the second week it’s about 50 percent, while every other vmount battery I own is close to 99% after 2 weeks and more. I have to constantly charge this battery and I end up having to leave it behind because it didn’t keep a charge and isn’t ready for a shoot.I wish I could like this battery, but it’s been a pain to rely on. I would stay away from this one from Smallrig and grab one of the 99wh ones. They need to go back to the drawing board with this 212wh one. It’s a swing and a miss: I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

2 of 3 defective
I’ve had three of these so far and two of them have had the severe standby drain issue described by other reviewers. For some reason they don’t all seem to suffer from this problem, but when they do, the display indicates that something is plugged in and the battery just drains and drains. The first clue that you may have one of these bad units is that it’ll be at 0% right out of the box. If it happens to you, keep a close eye on it and exchange it if the display shows the detailed view even when nothing is plugged in.

Nice battery
initially had an issue with the d tap not charging my atomos and left a poor review. Smallrig went above and beyond to contact me, and get with their engineers to find a solution. Turns out if you tap the power button four times it enters low power mode and works with my devices. Everything works great now.

Poor battery, especially after 53% died in 1hr.
I fully charged the battery, and it seemed to work fine until it reached 53%. After that, it completely died within an hour. This really disappointed me—definitely not the performance I expected.

You better hope you get lucky
Bought one of these and it had terrible standby time, then Smallrig sent me a second after I complained and it works great. Interestingly enough, the screens show different stats when charging (wattage on the defective battery, voltage on the working one) so if you receive one of these that might be the quickest way to tell.
