I work on repairing laptops and other consumer electronics as a hobby, and having these universal power plugs is a huge convenience over having to keep stock of multiple power adapters. Since I work on mostly laptops that take 19-20V DC, a standard laptop supply with a 5.5x2.1 barrel plug works for me, as does my bench power supply with a pigtail adapter if I don't need to be portable. If you need other voltages, you could use a variable power supply or one fixed to the required voltage.A very handy and inexpensive tool to have in your repair kit.

I keep these in my travel bag, along with a variable voltage power supply, so I can handle just about anything that pops up in the field. Recommended
