This is pretty simple contraption for putting pressure on a small area where you want to guard against an inguinal hernia, or keep one in check. Setting it up, putting it on and adjusting it is all pretty straightforward, especially if you've used any sort of hernia belt before. Rather than being inserted in a pocket as it is in many hernia belts, the pressure pad on this one sticks in place with velcro, which works fine, and adds a little more adjustability in that you can stick it in different positions without having to move or adjust anything else on the belt. The whole thing looks and feels a bit skimpy compared to other hernia belts, but I'm OK with that, the bands are wide enough to do the trick. The overall construction seems reasonably good--depending on how active you are when using one, I wouldn't expect to get many years of use out of it, but it should hold up a good while. The velcro patches on the belt aren't the heaviest-duty, but they're decent. All velcro wears out with usage, and that's what will likely go first on this belt eventually, but I expect to get a lot of use out of it before it does.

This belt only came with one pad and that pad is thick. I usually wear my harness tight and my insert pad needs to be thinner by at least half.

Having recently developed a hernia on my right side, I was looking for some relief. This hernia belt delivered and offers some serious relief, while still being comfortable. It's also easy to use, no matter which side your hernia is on.It comes with some basic instructions, however it's easy enough to figure out how to use and configure. Of course it came pre-configured for use on the left side, but it probably only took me less than a minute to convert it for use on the right side. And I didn't even need the instructions as it was pretty obvious how to rearrange it.The only negative I can see would be if you had a double hernia, with both left and right side issues. This belt only does left or right, not both at the same time. This isn't an issue for me since only my right side is effected, but worth noting if you have both sides needing attention.

This is mostly a quite comfortable truss, except for the strap that adjusts the tension on the pad. It goes down around your leg and back up to the strap in the back through your crotch. The velcro strap is thick and sits in a very sensitive spot on the back of my leg, right where I sit on it when in a chair. I will see if I can come up with a fix, but if i can't it will be difficult to wear this when sitting. I will probably try a different strap set up.If you need this for when you are standing, I recommend it. If you want to wear it all the time, I think you will find it needs some modification.
