I'll keep this short. I drove 1500+ miles with this on my roof during very heavy snow. Everything inside stayed dry. When I stopped, I made sure to check the straps and for the most part, it stayed perfectly tight. Now, admittedly, I didn't have it long. The reason for this is because 20 minutes from home I decided to take a back road, caught a sheer patch of ice and rolled my car off of a bridge. Obviously, the rooftop carrier took the brunt of this.That said, the ONLY part of the carrier that took damage from the roll was the bottom. The only reason for this is because I had a plastic tote in it that shattered on impact and punctured the carrier from the inside out. The top and the zippers were totally fine.I won't be buying one of these again right away (I'm broke now because I had to get a different car), but I absolutely WILL be buying one again. I found it to be very durable, easy to set up, and roomy as all get out. At the price, you cannot do better (and frankly, I'm not so sure you'll do much better spending more). I definitely recommend it.

I was a little skeptical because of some bad reviews, but this was the right price range and capacity so I went for it. We used it from Burning Man, to the Southwest, Southeast and then back up to New York with no problems. No slippage, no leakage, no rips. I broke one of the plastic pieces on the strap because I j pulled it too tight, but there’s were still plenty of other straps to keep it safe. We used only one ratchet strap to secure everything in addition to two other (Black) straps (all included). Only used straps horizontally because we don’t have rails in the front, only side rails (SUV). I suspect that some people had trouble with ripping because of the types of items they put up in that area. We used only soft items… Tarps, tents, clothing bags. It cost us about 2 miles per gallon, but was worth having his ability in the back. Hope this helps!

It fits two large suitcases, which is more than we expected. It's quite durable -- we drove for about 2,000 miles on high way and no wear or tear. It did take my husband some efforts to securely tie it on the rails of our car roof. The only reason I give it a 4 star is that it is rectangular shape and the air resistance is quite high at high speed on highway. I wish it could be a streamline shaped to reduce air resistance.

This item seemed great and high quality. ONE trip about 12 hrs one way. It was correctly placed on my SUV car rack. The item started to tear at the seems on the way home. It was not stuffed either. Will not recommend this brand.

This is perfect and big enough to put lots of things in it and it holds really good. Excellent product

We found this roof bag to be completely waterproof and well constructed. However, the pictures shown and the instructions probably don't provide the best way to secure the bag to the vehicle. To begin, we did buy an additional anti-slip mat, which probably should be included. Next, we put the "Mockins" logo in the front of the vehicle so that the zipper opening was in the rear. In this way, the extreme wind force of the moving car will not put pressure on a zipped opening. The zippers need to be properly closed and the vinyl flaps secured over the zipper. Next, we also used two straps in an "X" formation across the bags, which I don't think is shown in the instructions. That really made the bag secure. We used the two additional straps cross ways for a total of 4 straps in use (all included). We were in an SUV with a roof rack, I don't think the straps would be sufficient if you had to run them through the car, but I'm not sure.We had rain and everything inside remained bone dry. Happy with purchase.

Buying the Mockins weather proof car roof bag was the best choice for our trip. All of our travel belongings fit so perfect. The size and space of the bag makes it so convenient. What a great buy!!!

This is our second roof bag and we use them alot. I bought the Mockins 30 cubic ft because it was the biggest one that I could find. It was a huge upgrade from what we had! It came packaged nicely and the instructions were easy to follow. We had no problems using it for our long road trip. Highly recommend.
