Great!
Yummy! Is great even watered down into a sauce or brothy mixture. Quite potent so for me a little goes a long way and this baby might last in my fridge for a while (I hope) so that's useful! Umami miso paste which is always helpful to have on-hand

Delicious umaminess!
I loooove a good miso soup and I have used Japanese miso pastes mainly, vegetarian ones without any fish, so this one being vegan sounded like a great time to try a Korean miso! It smelled so strong and looked a lot darker than any miso paste I have used in the past, yet it actually is a nice mild miso flavor so not too strong after all! It made an absolutely taste miso, in which I added small pieces of tofu and some green onion.. MMMMmmmmm! I have yet to try using it in Korean recipes like rices or noodles, but I may venture to those since it's a large jar with plenty of concentrated miso to use in many recipes! :)

Good flavor, nice little bottle and presentation
I lvoe Korean food and try to make it as much as possible at home.. have you seen Korean restaurant menu prices lately??? Insane!!!! That's why I try to make Korean food at home as much as possible. I know it's not the same but it's close enough to get my craving under control. I bought this Wangshin brand Doenjang soybean paste to make Korean dishes with. The cute little 9oz jar has a hefty weight to it as it is made of glass and has a nice little rustic paper decoration thing going for it. I love it.. Looks nice and is eye catching. I was surprised it made it though the shipping system since it simply came in a plastic shipping bag.If you don't know what Doenjang is, it is simply a fermented soybean paste. Sometimes it is a byproduct of soy sauce and soup production. The Doenjang paste has a brownish color and is similar to Miso paste. It's hard to describe the taste of Doenjang paste as it is used in the making of different dishes from soups, stews and stir-fry. I can tell you that if you cook with this, it has a really delicious aroma and a wonderful umami that goes with any meat or vegetable dish. Typically you would make soups with this and it is great to flavor some broth or even a hearty stew with thick vegetables and chunks of meat. yum! I encourage you to try it out and see what you can make and experience.

Wouldn't recommend
The price is expensive compared to the quality of the product and it is not tasty, so I recommend not buying it.

I love this stuff
I've never had this and was entirely unfamiliar with what it is, but I love the way it tastes. I've added it to everything from plain rice to ramen and I feel like it adds a perfect amount of flavor.

Seems great to me
I am far from an expert on doenjang or Korean food, but this seems like a premium doenjang paste and I was excited to try it. I made a ssamjang dipping sauce with it that was deeply flavorful and delicious. I also like that it was very well packaged - I suspect to preserve the quality of the paste (plus, safety).

Coco’s Conclusion: Fermented Deliciousness
This comes in a jar with a nice seal. You can smell the fermented soy through the package. I know this is what it is supposed to smell like, but I wasn’t sure of it until I tried it. We used it with a noodle dish with rice, tofu, and edamame, and it added a good saltiness.

Excellent soy bean paste
This is a wonderful Korean bean paste with a simple ingredient list and a rich, deep umami flavor. They stress the fermentation process and it's as good as any other delicious type I've had. I love working this into random new recipes, and not necessarily Korean ones. Strong and concentrated.
