Lacks information
I had the previous version and ended up using that! I visited Plovdiv and Sofia and on this version the maps had been condensed from 2 to 1 and therefore harder to see roads, no grid reference for a site, restaurants etc so had to search for the number it had been given in the map, no addresses, opening times and where a site no cost to get in. For Plovdiv there were no instructions as to how to get to and from airport which as always been provided.Previous lonely planets have listed restuarants , sites etc in this format the sites are just included in like a story , some eateries are the bottom of one page some on the side of another. I really did not like the format as not easy to find information . Unfortunately I do not like this format and was not helpful.

A dog's breakfast.
This new edition of Aug 2024 is a real dog's breakfast with lots of coloured boxes on almost every page containing VERY small print of side subjects that distract from the main text. To find out everything about a place requires dotting around the whole book to find it. The content is significantly less than 2017 edition, there are no 'star' recommendations of 'must-visits', the definition of €, €€, and €€€ is not mentioned - needs some financial ranges for accommodation, restaurants etc. The index is very brief and incomplete.NOT A RECOMMENDED BUY. BETTER TO USE THE 2017 EDITION - IT IS SO MUCH EASIER TO USE AND FOLLOW AND GET ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED IN A LOGICAL PLACE BY PLACE METHOD.
