Canteen and cup are well made. Cover or canteen holster is junk. Flaps are loose, belt hook ups are at the bottom of the cover, which causes it to tip over and flop around.Would not recommend this product, unless you have a different cover or holster for the canteen.

Well built canteen and cup, the pouch doesn’t seem a little cheap but haven’t used the pouch.

This canteen and cup are really great quality! Much nicer than I expected at this price. As others have said here, it comes polished to a mirror-like shine which is a sign of quality (it's a lot easier to hide manufacturing flaws and defects on a flat-finished surface). But super shiny is not something I personally like in outdoor gear. I just scrubbed it all over with a fresh, green scotchbrite pad and it reduced the shine to that of the old original GI aluminum ones. Looks great now. I must say that the cover is a joke. It's well sewn but it fits SO badly that it really seems to have been made to fit something else. It's like an ill-fitting bag that can hold the canteen but isn't shaped right for it at all. Honestly, after the first "use", I threw the cover away. I'll make one that fits when I get a chance. This is a 1L canteen where the old GI ones were 1Qt, so surplus covers will not fit this.I hated having to throw away the new cover but, all in all, I'd definitely buy one of these again because the canteen and cup are so nice.

I love this bottle but, cap broke with a small drop by accident out of the car , is there any way to get a replacement cap, or buy one. please

Item is essentially as advertised but I wouldn't recommend it for any kind of military costume/cosplay like why I ordered it. The cover quality is not amazing, the synthetic fiber is very noisy and cheap and it's fairly reflective too. The canteen also has an almost chromed look to it, not the brushed steel/aluminum look I was going for. The cup and canteen are good quality though besides my gripes, the gasket on the cap is solid and hasn't leaked at all and the cup handle is of good construction however the covers ALICE clips are less than great, they are very flimsy and I wasn't able to buckle them to my belt without them bending quite severely although I do attribute that to my belt being thicker than average. I can't speak on the quality of other similar products but I'd say just get a real military canteen if possible as you're getting a higher quality and more authentic product.

The canteen itself is wonderful- good quality stainless steel polished to a high sheen. I boiled water in the cup over a campfire (on a fire grate) and it held up nicely- only very minimal dimpling on the bottom, and the expected staining. It should last for a long time. The carrying pouch, on the other hand, is just dreadful, and the reason that this is not a 5-star review. It was way too big for the canteen. I could have easily stuffed a tee shirt in there with it. The bag closure was not well designed either, with both flaps covering the cap. The pouch would need to be opened in order to take a drink. To add insult to injury, the attachment method they used would be compatible with military surplus web belts from the 1960's. Is ANYBODY still using those? I chose this one over another design because the cup handles are the sturdy folding wire, and not some janky looking sheet metal contraption- and I don't regret that decision. I ended up stuffing the canteen into a large fanny pack that could hold it, but that is not a great solution either. 7 stars for the canteen and cup, -5 for the pouch.

This product has a 4.6 and I think it deserves it. Reviews state the bag is junky and it kinda is but, otherwise, it is a good product. I gave it a 4.0 because of the bag. The canteen doesnt leak and is sturdy. Cap looks like a durable one. Cup is also sturdy. The stainless steel is nonferrous, which is an indication of a higher quality stainless. Sure it is shiny. I dont care. Sure the cup fits a bit loose to the canteen. Thats OK. I can get it tighter if necessary. The bag doesnt matter. I bought this product to carry extra water in my pack and wanted a cup to sterilize water or eat out of if necessary that fits over the canteen so it takes less space. The bag is good for something to contain cup and canteen even if it is loose. Manufacturer? If your reading? Just put the snap further down the bag and that will tighten the bag so maybe it wont be a problem for people carrying it on their belt.
