This works phenomenal Just what I need.

There are a couple of different wiring conventions for 1/8" 4 conductor plugs. The critical thing is where the common ground is connected. This adapter has ground connected to the 2nd ring from the tip, which is what the Pi needs. (Bizarrely the diagram currently shown on Amazon is WRONG for this adapter. It shows ground connected to the sleeve [farthest from the tip]. I've verified ground is 2nd ring with an ohmmeter.) This adapter is wired:- TIP=red (Pi left)- 1st RING=white (Pi right)- 2nd RING=ground/common- SLEEVE=yellow (Pi video)The normal color convention for stereo is RED=RIGHT but when used with Rapberry Pi, RED is LEFT audio. I've verified the channels using the Pi "speaker-test" command.Because video and audio use a common ground on the Pi jack, the ground connection is critical and it's easy to have a ground loop occur that introduces video hum in the audio. If there's video hum, rotating the plug can be helpful to make a cleaner ground connection. If I were buying again, I'd look for a product with a gold plated plug for a better ground. Taking off a star for the un-plated plug.

I got these to hook up a sound bar. They work great for my surround sound but not my sound bar. Not sure why, No matter what I tried these wouldn't feed my sound bar. It could be my sound bar is out dated for my TV. I would try these as a option. I just held on to them for something else if I need a 3 to 1.

Will not work with older gear, is a newer configuration for newer gear , not camcorders or dvd players. Look, most people buy these cables for this purpose, so it should be “CLEARLY “ marked as such. I don’t have time to return as they are cheap, so in the drawer they go. Seller please note this on the description.

This did not work as I wanted it to. Apparently, this will only send a signal one way and that way is from the large composite to the small AV plug. This will not work the other way around. I had intended to use this to play an old video camera on a TV as the small screen died, but was disappointed. Not a bad price for two, but make sure they will work for your particular need.The current listing has been updated to reflect this better and days they are for a TCL TV, but at the time I ordered, it was not exactly clear on that. The cables seem to be of acceptable quality, but just be aware of this before you buy.

Have old VCR & DVD players to hook up to new TV and these worked great.
