There are no fancy features, but you can add a couple of degrees to compensate for the emissivity. I plan to use to check light fixtures and doors this summer for where more insulation is required. Make sure the laser is perpendicular to object.

Pretty good for automotive

Works well. Functions work perfectly. Problems with the aimiing of the device. Has to be pointed downward in order to fully illuminate the display and be able to read it easily. This forces a very uncomfortable position of the wrist when trying to read the temperature of any object or surface at or above eye-level. In other words, if you're trying to read the temperature of an object that's right in front of you at waist level and you are holding the gun at waist level, you wont be able to see anything on the display. You'll have to raise the gun to slightly above eyelevel and point it downward to the obect in order to be able to read the display. When holdiing an object perpendicular to the ground, the human wrist can only decline by about 15 degrees. Hense, the problem. Other than that, this device is alright.

Wow. I was about to pay close to $100 and ended up paying under $10. Awesome item and has only a 5° median for deviation. Accurate within 5°.

Good for the price

I was lead to this product after multiple reviews external to Amazon said it was incredibly accurate for the price. Well I bought it, I tested it on multiple surfaces of varying degrees. This thing is way more than accurate enough. It is well with in +/- 0.2 degrees. The device is simple to use, Pull Trigger, Aim Laser, 1 Mississippi, Let go of trigger, Read screen. Functionality wise it is great and spot on. I don’t personally understand the comments about the grip angle needing better ergonomics… I grab it, I shot it, it tells me the temperature. It fits my hand fine. The tigger is super easy to pull. The screen does in fact have an odd view angle. I need to let go of the trigger and hold it up to read it. But I can’t think of a situation where I would need to read the temperature constantly. So for me and my uses this product works amazingly.
