Just what you need as a parent; and just what your kids need
Just what you need as a parent; and just what your kids need. If your maths is rusty this is the crib book you need to help your kids with homework. If you never did maths it's pretty helpful too as the explanation- particularly in the algebra department are clear and easy to understand. If the book has a fault, it's that it tries to cover a lot of ground in a slim volume. I don't see that as a fault because most people's faces fall and their eyes glaze over at the usual "helpful" stuff. This book walks you through the problem in clear steps that use the colour effectively without the usual patronising stuff you find in some similar publications.Throughly recommended by a 59 year old bloke who did his Maths GCSE last year for the first time.

I would be lost without it
Really useful book. I was great at maths at school, and now I can hardly remember a bit of this. This book explains all the concepts really simply and is designed to help you support your child's learning It is a very visual book with charts and diagrams to take you through each concept step by step. I would be lost without it.

Good book, topics well explained but...
Print very small for older eyes. Description has no "look inside". Book corners damaged due to poor packaging. PRINTED IN CHINA!

Great book!
Fantastic book that is going to be an incredible help in enabling me to homeschool my daughter. I'm not confident with maths and the subject stresses out my daughter quite a lot but just a quick flick through the book last night had us understanding key points that we've been struggling to grasp for weeks right away. An incredible bargain at just £5! I'm discovering the DK books to be very useful and have since ordered the english and science books too. I think these books are a great tool for parents who homeschool and for parents to help their kids with homework.

Colourful but weighty! Clear diagrams.
I bought it to send to some kids I met in India. It weighs a ton so cost a fortune to send! It is a book for explaining things with lovely colourful diagrams. It does not have exercises in it. The drawings suit the way I think very well, but then I understand most of it anyway. I think it would help kids to understand percentages, ratios, averaging and a host of other concepts.
