Great for notes, details or fine drawing.
I got this pencil because I write small and prefer to have a thin lead to be able to read them later. Many say that the 0.3 wears away faster, I'm not a pencil scientist, but it seems to be about the same longevity as a 0.5. I also naturally write small and with not too much pressure. The spinning mechanism works well and does keep the point longer, so no more dull thick spots. You can also lock the mechanism to not spin if that is needed. The gel grip is very comfortable and isn't too squishy. I don't like the small eraser on top of it. But if you write or draw lightly it does earse very well. I don't think it's durable enough for other pencils or thicker lead. It's a good pencil, the value is in the quality. Very well made.

Fantastic pencil, except for the eraser.
Alpha grip + kurutoga = perfect .3mm pencil... Is what I would say, if it wasn't for the TERRIBLE eraser. The grip is amazing. Not only does it feel great in your hand, but it removes the scratchy feeling that a lot of .3mm pencils have. Even better, though: When you combine the grip with the kurutoga mechanism, it has practically eliminated lead breakage for me, which is a big problem with .3mm pencils. The kurutoga mechanism is phenomenal as well. I tend to write in a half-cursive, half-print style, so I wasn't sure if it would do much for me. But it works really well. You always have a nice sharp point and a fine line. It keeps your handwriting looking much more uniform as you go. No more thin sections and thick sections. This pencil also made me realize that I had formed a habit of spinning my mechanical pencil in my hand to keep a sharp edge. Don't need to do that anymore. But this pencil has an Achilles' heel. And that is the eraser. The eraser is tiny. Brand new, it sticks out from the back of the pencil by about the same thickness as two pennies. That's all you get. But even worse, the eraser is terrible quality. It is too soft, so it gets used up really fast. And it doesn't even pick up pencil markings well. After one good test of the eraser, the usable portion was half gone. Unbelievable. For now, I've found that Pilot's HERFN-10 refills are much better erasers and are close enough in diameter that you can get them into this pencil. But it's not a perfect solution. This pencil's eraser holder also has a lot slop, which leaves me worried that I'm going to break the pencil just by using the eraser. So close, Uni/Mitsubishi.Fix the eraser. Please.

even after 1 year i still love this pencil
love this pencil. if you aren’t used to using 0.3mm lead then you might have some problems with this pencil. the thin lead means that it breaks easier and that it gets really sharp and can rip through paper if you use too much pressure. it is a great lead size for precision. i don’t use the eraser on the pencil since it feels unstable, but i usually use a separate eraser anyways (sumogrip). the gel grip on this pencil is the main reason i bought it and it is very comfortable to use.

My favorite pencil in the world
I love the grip on this thing. Plus, the super small lead makes it perfect for writing small things. I like that it has both the kuru toga and the regular feature. Personally I never use the regular feature but I do use the thing that switches between the two as a fidget so I apppreciate it being there. It is pretty light and writes so well.

The grip is nice
I love this pencil for its grip, the ms01 grip started to hurt after a while and this pencil seems to eliminate that while still being steady, also the uni motor inside can be switched on and off! Crazy design!
