Very good resource for a" newbie" gardener like me. It's like most garden books--sometimes they're very specific and sometimes they're very vague. I'm still "gonna" give it a high score.

Excellent book: well written, well thought out, well organized... This book covers a broad range of reliable perennials, for use in many different types of environments, purposes, climates, zones and garden situations. An easy read... not too technical, you don't have to be a Master Gardener to understand the material, but there is something here for most gardeners, novice through experienced.A nice reference book to have on your shelf, quick to reach when you want to check on suitable conditions for a particular plant or when you want to find a plant for particular conditions.

I saw this book in HD but didn't want to spend full price on it. Trusty Amazon to the rescue, got a great deal on a book that gives me all the info I'm looking for. 1st time home buyer with a yard in desperate need of TLC. Perennials are for me and this book gives me light vs. shade and layout ideas. Looking forward to this summer.
