Thought provoking
It was written by a Pastor I have come to enjoy reading because he draws us to the Saviour. He writes what is not popular today. Woman's place in the home and in church. These twelve women were in no way special except they had been chosen by God. All of His children then become special. In reading this it set me free from the expectations of the world and caused me to seek to be a Mary, or at least with her strengths.

Love Macarthurs writing style and his knoelwdge
I did not feel this was as in depth as 12 OM, but some of the women in this book i would struggle to produce a chapter on as there isnt much with regard to them in scripture. I dod learn so much and it is always good to look at character studies with relation to biblical history.I would reccomment this book for anyone, i origonaly bought this for my wife and we were both challenged by hannah. The study guide is so helpful if you were to use this as a group study.

So much to gain
Really good and insightful read. Inspired by the life of these women to live to the glory of God and realize that there is so much to gain from not giving up. Good to take your time with reading and also refer to the verses indicated while reading so the word sips right into the heart. Did not want to put down

Good book, God bless you
I've been enjoying reading this book, full of scripture so I love it and great study of the characters. Though the quality of the print i got wasn't great, still worth the money.

Insightful, engaging & full of scripture reference
I loved this book, I couldn't disagree with the other review more!! It's absolutely full of scripture reference and strong exegesis. I came away with a much more in depth understanding of these biblical women. Really insightful.

Good content on these women but fleshed out by content of other people
The content about the women is great, however, the book has been fleshed out by John discussing the men in these women's lives and also by making assumptions of their situations. I would have loved it, had it not spent the majority of chapters discussing other people rather than the women themselves! Also to note, you can definitely pick up the favoritism of the women, the more Holy these women were and the more they reflected his views of how women should be (biblically and now), the more he had to say about them and the more he had something nice to say about them. He clearly does not think highly of Rahab and Sarah, which makes me wonder how he acts towards those in person AND behind close doors in his thoughts, towards those he doesn't think are people of God.On a good note, I did thoroughly enjoy the chapter on Hannah! If I do happen to pick this book up again, it'll only be for the chapter on her.
