Great MacBook Pro 13” Replacement
I was looking for a machine that was about the same size and build quality as my 13” MacBook Pro. This machine is perfect, for just that. Good build quality, very nice screen, portable form factor, good battery life and powerful enough to perform creative tasks as well as light gaming. All that for an affordable price. I bought open box, Amazon was the provider and everything was packaged well and works great! I play rocket league and this machine does well. The 90hrtz screen and 5mp web camera also make it a great all around machine for the price point. Sure ram is soldered but most ppl don’t need more than 16gb. That along with the i7 and 1tb storage… perfection!I don’t usually like hp, but this one has an upscale build quality unlike most of the machines available at the local tech stores. If you are looking for a light duty gaming machine that can stand in as normal ultra book. This is the one to get. Thanks for reading.

Small and lightweight
I was looking for a small laptop - something more than my tablet, but not much more - this is working well. Screen is clear, size is great, can’t really comment on battery life since I am often plugged in

Great computer, good battery life as well
Upon reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to purchase this laptop. Several negative reviews regarding the battery life. Our computer battery life is better than average. My wife uses this computer for work every day and she loves the USB-C charging as well.

Nice specs, horrendous 3-cell battery life
I feel this laptop is nicely spec'd out for the price, but the 3-cell battery is the curve ball. Bought when it was on sale, it seemed to check all the boxes for a decent mid-range laptop for the price. Unfortunately, with only chrome and ~3 tabs opened, then laptop would only last 2-2.5 hours on battery fresh out the box, with no other software or programs running/installed. That kind of battery life is just unacceptable in 2024, thus the laptop is getting returned.

Good all around device, but terrible battery life.
Let me start out by saying that for everything this device offers, it is certainly worth the $799 sale price. The screen is very nice, as it seems both bright and vibrant. The 90hz refresh rate is a nice touch, though 120 would have been a bit better. Most people probably wont notice the difference though so its still an excellent screen overall. The keyboard feels pretty nice to type on. The backlighting is bright and even enough to work well with the silver color. There is also a nice collection of ports for the size and form factor. Said form factor being probably my favorite thing about this device. It is very lightweight and feels very portable. While still feeling well built. Though there is one big exception on that point about portability. That being the absolutely terrible battery life. Its actually embarrassing how poor it performs in this area. With every power saving mode turned on, the dedicated gpu disabled, the cpu limited in the windows power plan and the brightness at its lowest setting it estimated around 6 hours sitting on the desktop. Which lowered to 5 and a half hours when watching a youtube video or opening visual studio. For a device that is otherwise very portable I feel this is unacceptable. The bar for laptop battery life has most certainly gone up as of the past few years. I dont thinks its unfair to expect more than the old 4-5 hours. Especially for a device like this. Where I feel we should be able to get at least the advertised 8 hours with light use and while not having to set the brightness to its minimum. Given it is a portable form factor and uses a low power U series processor. (I know it has a dedicated gpu and bright OLED screen, but remember I was running it at the lowest brightness and with the RTX 2050 completely disabled when I got those numbers) It is easily the worst thing about this laptop. There is a 68whr battery, compared the 51whr on offer here, option for this device that should really have been made the minimum. Especially given that this is a not a cheap device even when on sale. A battery that size would probably push this device into that desired 8 hour territory. Rant over, for now. If battery life is not something that bothers you. Or if you feel 5-6 hours is enough then this laptop is a great choice. With the primary cons I can think of outside of the battery life being that the touchpad feels plasticky. Its not the most pleasant to use but its still perfectly fine. Then the chassis can get a little warm even after doing lighter tasks. Its heats up especially while charging even if youre not using it. I would also say that it comes with a little bit of bloat and HPs own software is also not very good. Using it felt more sluggish while also having less options than what Ive seen from MyAsus or others. Back to some of the positives though. Having a dedicated gpu in this form factor is really nice. I havent tested it extensively but from what Ive seen it should perform similarly to a gtx 1650 but with rtx capabilities. So likely able to run pretty much anything with the right resolution and settings. Fans are also very quiet which is nice. Even under a decent cpu load they weren't ramping up. And on battery saver they seem to turn off frequently. Though expect a bit more noise while gaming obviously. So all in all this is a very good laptop. A solid amount of power on offer, good build quality and solid keyboard/trackpad. It is really only let down by its battery life. Which is just not good enough for me to keep it. I didn't need mac book levels of battery life but wanted something that could go at least a work day without being tethered. As I mentioned above, I feel that 8 hours of light use is a very reasonable minimum for a device that is clearly meant to be portable given its small size and impressively low weight even compared to its contemporaries. Just know that you will want the charger with you and an eye on the nearest outlet.

Poor quality
The RAM memory is undergrad-able. The quality of the material poor. If i lean with both hands, the track pad does function, so i have to use fingers only, can't have my rests on the sides.
