To Protect and to Identify Open Ethernet Ports
I ordered these a few days ago and really like them! I bought them so my network will be protected from static or dust, etc. in the extra ethernet ports I have on my router. They also help people identify which open ports can be for what by also buying Avery tags and writing on the tags what you want the port to be. For example, if you have an open slot on a network for RJ45 cables and you want to remember what cable went there, you write it on the Avery tag and tie it to these and then plug it into the jack. So they not only keep the jacks clean and protected, they also help identify what the jacks can be used for later on. I highly suggest these for IT professionals from large networks to smaller ones. Here are some photos I took as well to help you decide. Oh, one more thing, they are very easy to insert and remove. You insert them just as you would with a cable end and you remove them also just as you would with a cable end, very simple.

DUST BLOCKED!
Works wonderful as a dust block for the ports on my switches. Clips in easily, comes out similar to a normal Ethernet cable. Basically the same size as a standard RJ45 plug, just without the metal connectors and no pass-through for the wires. I don't use them to label my home ports as everything is currently on the same VLAN, but the option is there if I ever need it. The small form factor ones would have been fine for my use, but I didn't want to have to use a needle nose pliers or similar tool to remove the plug.

RJ45 Dust Cover and Label Device 50-Pack
RJ45 Dust Cover and Label Device 50-Pack Is a nice addition to my network supplies. This would be an even better deal if tags were included. I’d be willing to pay a buck or two more to have the option of including them with the order.

Good tight fit.
Good positive click. The plug fills the entire cavity without depressing the contacts to prevent contact distortion and infirtration of debris from inside.

... hole of Amazon product searches and I am really glad that I found them and ordered them
I stumbled across these while going down the rabbit hole of Amazon product searches and I am really glad that I found them and ordered them. This truly is the product I didn't know I needed but now I will not do without. I have been in IT for 25 years and this just makes so much sense, protect the port AND label it. I had previously been looking at another product from the same company that plugs unused ports only, that was a pack of 100, I noticed these with the labeling option (and I liked the color better) so I ordered them without realizing that it was a 50 pack instead so I will need to order more. I shared this product with a friend in the IT field and he is ordering some now.

Happy with purchase - but does not come with any attachments, strings, tags, etc.
As in the headline, I didn't pay attention that this does not come with its own strings or tags, etc. Without them, they are hard to pull out of a 24 port switch when on top of one another (or depending what's above/below switch). I used small green :) zip ties and they worked like a charm. I didn't use them to "label" ports as much as to "tag out" (Navy speak) the ports that were shut down. They are solid, don't feel like they'll break even after some use; tight in my switch, like I said, difficult to pull out w/o something attached to pull on.

Peace of mind.
Perfect for tagging handoff ports for later use. Just tie a tag or label to it. Eliminate confusion, let them know where to go.
