Question about chain to open & close shade!
The shades were installed last month and I am very pleased with them except…the roller chain to move shade up and down broke…it is plastic and not suitable for allot of use. I cannot retract shade up now…not sure what to do?

Change in product
I bought a couple of these last year. Everything was fine. Decided to buy a couple more this year. The color is not the same I ordered mocha. They sent mocha. I order mocha again. must be two different mochas. The hardware is black now instead of a tan color and the hardware is cheaper so beware

Used on Sun-Setter Patio Awning
I ordered the 6X6 shade and mounted on the side of my older Sun -Setter 17-foot manual awning which I leave up all-Summer long. The really hot temperatures this year got the best of me.I first mounted 12-inch heavy duty cable ties (Tensile Strength 120 pound) around the side top (folding) awning metal brace using two to form a large open loop. I purchased a 2-inch X 4-inch X 8-foot wood stud to mount this awning on. Using the template supplied made this an easy mount.With the installed OPEN cable ties, I placed the stud with the mounting shade bracket to position the stud with no help from anyone else before closing them up. I found that placing the stud a few inches over the front junction of the top and the side metal awning bars secured the wood mounting.After this mounting I purchased Envisioned 2inch X 30 Cinch Straps to secure this mounting that has to be easily remove for rollup storage in the Winter.Now if you purchase this shade wider than 6 foot you will need a longer stud like 10 or 12 foot long.This is really a great shade and if you don't have wood to mount to as in my case the instruction may be helpful.
