Works better than all the others I've had
I've used other 1oz silicone trays. One type was the ones that's plastic, where you push on one side of the half moon cube and the food comes out. That one comes with a cover and that's why I tried it. However, I find that pushing the frozen food on one side and have it slide out on the other side is hard, and when the food pushed out on the other side, it hurts my fingers and cut them sometimes. The food "cube" is not cube, it's a half moon shape, so it's very hard to keep organize in a zip lock bag, most of the time is just a giant bag of stuff that took up space in the freezer, or you'll keep the food in the tray itself and take one out at a time. No no no!! (Only plus is that it's hard plastic so the ice cube food will not be deformed and it has a lid)I've also used the 1oz silicone ones with no cover. So to freeze the food in those, you'll have to put the tray into ziplock bags, and the top of the food will smoother onto the inside of the bag and if you put anything on top of it, it'll deform and squish the ice cube. The bottom of that tray is all connected, so when it's time to push out the ice cube, it's a little hard, especially the first one. I do like that one because it's 1oz, i could blend a few types of food into these 1oz, mixed them w/ other batches of 1oz, and my baby will have a mix of many type of food in his meal, usually just 4oz.The reason I really really love this NUK one is it's the best of the 2 types of trays I've tried.1. Silicone - I could put some hot food that's blended right into the tray, don't need to wait for that 10 mins like if I'm using the plastic ones.2. The bottom of this tray is not connected. This actually makes the ice cube very easy to push out, even it's a taller cube.3. It has a lid!!! (need I say more??)4. It has a small footprint, but since each slot is 2oz, it holds up to 18 oz.I do wish that it will come in 1oz size though, since that gives me option to have more combination of food in each meal.Another thing about this tray is, if you are trying to freeze something that's very watery, it might take some skill. Since the silicone is very soft thin type, something very thin and liquidy might not stay too well, then on top of that, you'll need to push the lid onto the tray, then transport it to the freezer. But with some skill, I could do it with no problem. All in all, I love this tray, it is my go to ones.

Great quality! Easy to use, clean, and get frozen food out.
I have been using these freezer trays for about a couple of weeks so far and they've been working out great! We make all of our 6 month old's baby food at home and I purchased two of these trays to freeze what we make in bulk. I did read in other reviews that folks had a tough time getting frozen food out, but I did not have any issue. The silicone is very flexible and allows you to pop out the food by turning each cube pocket inside out. My hands do get a bit cold doing this, but it's pretty quick to get out!I love that this comes with a lid so you don't have to worry about anything getting into your baby's food. Each pocket holds about 2oz of food each. After the food gets frozen, I try to promptly take them out and put them into freezer disposable bags and label them with the food type and date to keep in the freezer. When I want to defrost or thaw them out, I simply take a cube out from a bag and put into my wean green cube and stick it in the fridge or microwave to defrost.I have yet to put these in the dishwasher but I did find that these trays are really easy to clean by hand if you use a bottle brush. I clean each of the pockets with a bottle brush and gets it clean easy and quick! I've also read that these make really good ice cubes for adult drinks which is probably what we'd probably use them for after our baby is done with pureed food. =D

Absolutely Great!
For my first baby, I used a baby food trays that looked like ice cube trays and had a lid (purchased from Walmart out of necessity, no research involved). It worked fine enough, but was a pain to get them out of the trays. I had to use a knife to pop them out. For my second baby, I purchased these. I got three of them and I am so happy I did. I initially thought the bigger 2 oz portions were going to be too much, but my little eater chomped down 2 oz no problem. The other tray set was 1 oz portions which is nice when you want to mix some flavors, but you can just fill these halfway and get the same effect. Getting the frozen cubes out is literally as fast as unscrewing a jar. I don't even have to get the knives out or worry about popping them out across the room! Score! I listened to past posters about not filling to the top to help any sticking to lid and I haven't had any problems so far. Also, my last set had lids that snapped on, these lids do not snap on and are only there to allow you to stack. If you tip these before they are set, the lid will not hold anything. I would say that is the biggest "con" but I'm not sure how they would get a secure lid on a silicone tray. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase and regret not getting them sooner!

Nice
I wanted a silicone try over plastic. I thought the cubes would be easier to get out without have to run water on them or anything. I like that each section is individual so I can push out the food with my finger and its working like I wanted. I feel like I did noticed some crystallizing that I would expect to see with something that's not real airtight, but I also think the batch of food had too much water in it anyway. I think with a lower water content it would be less of a concern. One thing I didn't consider is this: I was happy with the idea of 2oz cubes or 1oz cubes like a lot of others, but I bought 5oz Wean Green Glass Tubs for transporting the food. I want to pop the cubes into the glass containers, but only 1 will fit in a frozen state because of the shapes of the cubes vs the tubs. I only just started using them so I haven't come up with a solution yet. I might have to make sure I always defrost them the night before in an open container so the lid will fit on by morning.
